Food plot is looking good He is a regular ..but late Just more evidence that mature deer are mostly nocturnal and best odds when not nocturnal is the prime of the rut. One mistake on pressure or smells and this buck will become a ghost.

^^^^^^just before season last year i bumped a mature buck off a property i hunt by hanging a stand and making noise and being to aggressive. I had many years of pics of this buck and going into the season had a shed 170sh. Pics every day.....after hanging the stand he disappeared for a LONG time and never took back up residence. Tough lesson learned:(

Awesome buck btw Woody and Thanks for sharing. My crossbows are dialed. Next is hanging hunting clothes outside to air out and then put in totes. I have myself, 2 kids, and a future son-in-law to get on deer this year! Keep after it

Well Im glad to see Im not the only person getting buck pics with no velvet on the antlers. I have a 2-2.5 yr old buck that keeps showing up on 1 of my cameras that is naked on his antlers. I got a pic last month of what appears to be a different buck that was in velvet. I've also been getting pics of a mature doe with 2 yearlings every single day 4 or 5 times a day

Yesterday after work I got my new camera and placed it back in the cedar tree near the cedar tree I plan to move the stand to. Here is the cedar tree and short video. My little spot is looking good. Video is not the best. Moved around way to fast. Spot caught me by surprise. I have not gone down my hill since this spring. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcE_Yt1-vEo

My goal this weekend will be moving my stand to that cedar tree. Thinking Sunday afternoon. Might take a walk to my neighbor spot. See if tree is still good. Being upper 80's again one stand will be enough. Low odds getting 2nd stand up across the street.

Pretty late to move stands but I’ve got at least two if not three to move this weekend. Just small adjustments but I’m not going to just sit and watch the deer like I did last season. I’m moving to where they are.

I'm getting breakfast ready now then headed out to do stand work. Packing a lunch too because I don't want to leave the woods until it's all done.

One thing getting older is my lack of heat tolerance. I go into 100% sweat mode seconds walking out the door. Might hold off for Monday. Chance of rain. Already hot and muggy. Not complaining. I'll take summer over winter. I agree being late. I worked on the hives this morning. Ended up with 2 queens out of 7. Good news both new hives have good population of bees. Only 1 sting in my leg. I had shorts and tee shirt. No ppe.

Pretty warm and muggy in the woods this afternoon, but did manage to get one two man ladder stand moved thanks to the help of my wife. It’s all we had time for, but really liking this new spot it’s in. Was only about a 50 yard move from where it was, but hoping it makes all the difference.

I'm taking Friday off and finally moving one stand and putting up #4 in my #1 spot at home. Both are Ohio home stands. 100% ready for Indiana. That was my priority this year. Sunny high of 73 works. Might even brew a dark larger with a hint of hops. I created the recipe and got the ingredients last Saturday. One of enjoyable attivivites. Brewing Beer, Deer Hunting and Honeybee Keeping.

I started at 7:30 and finished at 11:30. Home stand is moved and in final location. It's in a gnarly cedar tree. Lunch then cutting grass. If I have any life in me still the neighbor stand is going in. Today is one of those low energy day. Need to fit a nap in.
