Looked at the food plot, maybe 30% - 40% germination, LOTS of grass and spurge popping up., more so than the food plot seeds.... Put up one ladder stand, a few trail cams, and a pop up blind.

Sept 12th finishing up my stands at my brothers place. All of us are meeting there (the gang) to hang all of our deer for a deer picture on the barn wall. This will be my kick off. I'll post the picture. Last time was 14 years ago. Hope weather is good.

Took my 12 year old squirrel hunting on Sunday Morning and then hung a new two man ladder stand and cleared dome of other stands with the Stihl pole saw. Raccoons have been destroying our small cornfields

We finished installing the last elevated shooting house this past Saturday. We have one more ladder to move and that's it for this year.

Fall temps for couple days... Starting to get the FEVER.... Have a friend who owns property in neighboring county in a reduction zone who has invited me over. Probably go just to get into a tree and away from all the political noise for a bit.

I'm working on a new broadhead quiver and shooting every day that I'm home. I need to get busy putting stands up.

Looks nice.. Good and sturdy. A buddy heater and some snacks and you're ready for anything.

It's sort of nestled in off a food plot...the only real shot opportunities will be out in front so I just put in the one window.

For approx 13 years I had windows cut out just like you have until I got smart. I got tired of opening the door to see what was going on around me so I cut the holes even larger so I could stick my head out to look around. I finally bought 2-32" X 18" sliding windows and installed them what a difference that made, when the wind blows straight into that window hole you will feel it even more than if you were in a tree stand. I keep the windows closed most of the time except for maybe the last 1/2 hour. I pray for cold snowy days during deer season because I stay as warm and snug as a bug in a rug!

I used school bus windows sideways. Take the lock out so it doesn't click. Slide sideways to open and close and its just big enough to get your head thru.

I put burlap up on two ladder stands. I have two more that need some.
Trimmed some shooting lanes at one of my stands. It's in a real thick spot on the edge of a bedding area, but only about 40 yards from my driveway. I hinge cut two corridors about 15' wide each and about 30 yards long that connect in a V-shape, with my stand at the point of the V. Now with a south wind, I can peek right into some of the bedding while my scent blows back across my house and yard.
One limb was about 12' off the ground and smack in the way of one of my new shooting lanes. I don't have a pole saw, but the 20 gauge took it down pretty efficiently.
So I've now got 3 stands that are ideal for a southerly wind, 3 for a west wind, 2 for a east wind, and 2 for a North wind.
