Yes. Great guys. This year has been hard. Overall success depends on birds and how well you and your group hide. Very few juvies this year so they have been grinding it all season. They were hoping a good push of young birds. He hunts every day into March. Said 2/14 was open and still some spots in March. This was my 3rd year. 1st year we killed 50 to 60. Last year it was 15 and this year 12. Thise are long days for 6 guys to kill less than 20 birds but it is hunting. They have pits right? Yes 4 or 5. Hunts 6 or 7 plus guide. Very nice pits. Heat and cook tops

I'll be curious how he does and where exactly they find birds. I plan on going next weekend in Missouri. My buddies went this past weekend in Missouri and barely saw anything. Managed 4 birds. They said they were all adult birds. Not even the guides were going in the area they were at. Good luck to them!
Edit: Not looking for exact location, I just mean state wise

They start spring break tomorrow, Their teachers let them out early today so they could take off this afternoon to try and beat the storm.

Don't remember now if it was last week or the week before, but I was taking the dog out before bed and could hear geese flying over the house headed north. Heard them three nights in a row and the second night it was clear enough that I could see they were snow geese WAY up there! And there was a bunch of them!

In comparison to the Missouri and SD, Nebraska gets overlooked by lots of guides and other hunters. Few years ago we spent three years chasing them in the SE corner of the State and did very well. Easy to get permission and did not have so much hunter pressure. Worked out tails off, but had much success freelancing there. We did hunt the Rain water basins a little, but they have some no hunting days because of the crane migration. The best was SE where they came out of Missouri and Kansas and we were there. Many birds slide NW out of Missouri and then even fly more West before heading North. If interested in a specific town, PM me and will let you know. Depending what area he is going, some of Nebraska will be getting just rain this weekend and them birds could be on the move. Lets face it, they want to go North for sure. From the snow map it looks pretty safe to say 5" of snow is over much of the state. Will be ugly in the fields with the melting snow and rain. One year we had to four wheeler EVERYTHING in and out of fields and that was even tough. I look forward to hearing how he does. Once bitten by the snow goose hunting its hard to let go of. Our group has had to take a break as we all have kids ranging from 6 years old up to 17, so it has been hard to get back out there with family and occupations. Please keep up posted.

Thanks for the info, he is in Grand Island now, going to start heading south from there. Last year they done well in that area but said the crazy crane people would block roads and talk land owners into not letting hunters onto their fields.

I can believe it with the crane people. Lol. Grand island....met a couple good men in that area that helped us get permission on a flooded field where there had been roosting. Lucky for the extended shooting hours. I wish him and his buds luck and fun. Love to shoot some snows, but the spring show of other species is lots of fun.

Today scouting they said very few snows...field full of Canadian and green heads. Going south tomorrow. Been a hard year killing snows. Not many juvies around. When the hunters were done harvesting a record number last several yrs it was said a few people heard ma nature say...hold my beer and watch this. Late freeze in the breeding grounds killed almost every young bird last year. There were tons of birds in So IL in Feb but very hard to decoy. Good luck to your boy. He h the s the bug for sure.

They were finding a few mid Kansas, guy from Grand Island called them this morning and said hurry back that the specks and snows just arrived with the warm weather. They said finding land owners took half a day in Kansas so they are going back up to Nebraska where they know land owners.

Im sure that was a welcome phone call.
As duff mentioned I bet it’s tough this year with the lack of juvies, specially that front edge of them. I know everyone has their views on jumping them, but being a young man I would try and get me how I could. Just like pass shooting the jump takes its own art. Don’t get me wrong, I will always laying in the decoys when ever I can.....just saying. Sure need to watch the other species when doing that.
Good luck to him!
