The old pickaroon was bouncing off the wood this morning. -37 now, was -27 as I was cutting a extra load of wood yesterday and the saw teeth would bounce on the cold logs, but they sure split easy.

I guess I wasn't ready for the cold. Had some pipes freeze in the crawlspace of the house last night. Will keep water trickling through the rest of the ones that work to keep everything from freezing up and hope for the best. I'll guess I will see if anything actually froze solid enough to split when things thaw back out this weekend.

No mail here. I was expecting a delivery from UPS, don't know if they are running today or not.

My wife is off today and tomorrow. Teachers 4th grade. Luckily, I filled my propane tank last week. It was at 15%. Glad I didn't wait for this week. I think my summer project this year will be a wood insert with fan in my fireplace. With all the dead tree I have a glut of fire wood.

Perfect North sky slope is closed. Maybe the world is ending. Just 2 weeks ago the only half was open and complaining about the warm weather. Now to cold. What a bunch of cry babies.

2 things I did right this past year:
1. Prepaid $1000.00 of propane at a reduced price.
2. Had my furnace inspected and serviced this November.
I did my furnace several years ago but my fat hands and short patience aren't what they used to be, besides they know what their doing.

I’d do it at least every three years two is better we have a ton of service agreements were we do the ac in the summer and the furnace in the winter it’s at a cheaper rate and a discount on parts.. Works out good for a lot of people they don’t won’t to screw around with it or can’t do it.
If they do need emergency service they get off cheep another big plus for them

I got up this morning to find one of my kids locked the door from the house to the garage, but failed to get the door fully closed. It was open all night...

-17 here this morning.
I woke up at 6:50am yesterday. Had my morning prayer, poured a cup of coffee and read half a chapter in the Bible when my power went out. Chugged my cup of coffee, not dressed and threw a propane heater under the house to protect the water pipes. After fighting with the generator, I finally got it wrestled up to the house and hooked up. The spring in the pull cord was frozen and I barely could pull it out and had to manually rewind the cord each time. Finally got it going. Went inside turned on a couple of breakers. Nothing. Checked my reset buttons and power hook ups and found no errors but still wasn't getting electric from it. I decided that maybe it was just cold so I let it run while I went to fill up all my gas cans. Got back home and still had nothing. I plugged a phone charger into the 120 outlet and zilch. No idea why it's not running. Electric came back on about 11. As I turned my breakers back on in the house I heard a loud pop come from the furnace followed by a burnt electric smell. Yep, fried my transformer. Got that replaced then the inducer motor wasn't working. Sounded like the bearings were going out in the fan. Then it stopped all together. Took about 45 minutes to pull that out, cleaned it up with some WD-40 and got it going again about 4:00. Also discovered my home printer/copier/scanner got fried, my Yamaha digital piano got cooked, and several lights throughout the house no longer work. I also found out that the transformer in my shop furnace got fried as well. Took the transformer out and called it a day. Finally got back inside for good about 5:30. Ordered a new transformer and inducer motor.
It was a long day with several aggrevations but ultimately, it could have been much worse. My generator is a very old 4,000 watt generac. Not sure what's wrong with it. May just have to buy a new generator if it can't be fixed or the cost is too high to do so. Hoping the piano can be repaired also but, the printer is shot. Not exactly sure if there's a wiring issue now with my lights not working in the house or if I can simply replace the fixtures.

Good question. I really don't know and no one else seems to either. Several people in the area are reporting the same thing. Loss of appliances and similar items.
