Fished a lake over here in SW Ohio for crappie for about 2.5 hours today. Started off throwing jigs and also had 3 dozen minnows. Caught about 6 on jigs and then started noticing fish shallow bumping bait. We hooked up some minnow rigs and started dropping them in. Boy was it the right choice. Me and the boy doubled up on 12 inch whites and my daughter followed that up with a fish Ohio 13 incher. We targeted a 20 to 25 foot section of bank from about 12 inches out to 5ft deep. Brought close to 40 home. Out of that we had 8 between 9 and 10 inches. Everything else was 10 to 14 inches with the majority over 11.5. One 9f the best days I've had size wise on crappie in some time. Had to cut the trip short due to my wife's Blood Pressure acting up.

Beat up the crappie pretty good on Rend lake in southern IL May 8 & 9. Four of us brought home 96 on day one 64 on day two. Fish were all caught in the bushes along shore dropping minnows into the openings with 11' long poles. Hey, when you are leaving there, stop at Uncle Joes and at least grab some BBQ sauce for home!!! IIRC Exit 83. You had a great trip!!

Fishing on Monroe was on fire this morning. May not have been giants but we caught over 100 fish in a little over 5 hours. Had a livewell full of crappie and a couple catfish. My biggest crappie was just under 14”. At one point we had 5 poles with fish on them at the same time. Definitely the most fish I’ve ever caught in one day.

Just got back from several days of good fishing in northern Michigan. Weather was a little cool but we caught plenty of fish, a mixed bag of smallmouth, largemouth, pike, rock bass and bluegill. Had a big fish fry, brought home a few bags of fillets and released a bunch.

Stole Dave's spot this morning and hit my 1st Monroe flathead. Around 8#. She pulled the boat around. The small channel was on a crawler harness. Caught a short large mouth bass too. Missed 1 other big hit on crank. I am guessing a true river monster quality fish

Got permission to clean out a 1 acre pond of channels. They have almost wiped out the guy's bluegill population. Didn't know it was possible to hurt a bluegill population, but he stocked "between 150 and 200" channels 2-3 years ago. Didn't actually weigh them, but about 3.5 to 4#ers. One male and 3 females as you can tell.

Good night on Dave's spot last night. 4 wipers hit the 25 pound mark. Gotta new a spot now so you can have that one. Was hoping for another 100 fish day this Friday, but plans changed and I won’t be on the lake at all.
