Anybody here ever worked with this company? Looking at them for a 30' x 50' x 12" metal pole barn. Good chance I'm heading there this Thursday. They seemed very nice talking to them this morning. Any other suggestion on pole barn companies is always welcomed. Looking to build this summer/fall.

Amish group. Well, used to be at least. The metal itself comes from ABC Buildings out of Nicholasville Kentucky or their sister plans MBCI out of Shelbyville Indiana. Other than shipping them metal while at a previous job, I know little about them.

I'm also looking at the Amish. A friend used them last year to build a home in Patriot, In.

I know I need to drive the Amish to my site everyday. You can hire a non-Amish driver to take care of it. Need to add the driver to the labor cost. Thanks for the information on Goodman. I'll check them out.

Found out Gosman will not work with me since I live in Hamilton County, Ohio. Issue with Hamilton County building permits etc. I mentioned to him that I live on land that is classified as Farm land and I do farm Hops on it. The regulations are relaxed and there would be no issues. Oh well, stopping by Tree City Metal this Friday afternoon.

Thanks- I visited Tree City Metal this past Friday. We talked about a 30' x 52' x 12". I just laid it out and my wife thinks it's big. Might need down size and save a few dollars, maybe a 24 x 42 x 12. Going to lay this out this evening (weather permitting) and see if wife is okay. I spent a long weekend at French Lick Resort.

When building a pole barn there is no such thing as to big, there is I wish I would have made it bigger though.

Leveled the area for the pole barn this weekend. Tree City Metal should start building at end of month. Finally the ground was not "hard as rock". 100% ready.

Just me thinking aloud, no windows because you don't need folks peeking in to see what you got. Windows are also a great area for a break in entry point. Face the garage doors toward your house so you can see them a a glance.

One suggestion on the entry door. Go with a 48" wide door if you haven't already. Wide enough to run most 4=wheelers, Air Compressor's etc. if you have something in front of the slider. Not much cost difference between regular entry door. Just my $.02 (worth about .001 in today's market)

Another + on the windows. Client wanted no windows "security reasons". Now he's ing about the electric bill because he has to have the lights on all the time.

If you have the room and the cash I’d go 30 deep I built 30 x 40 and glad I did with a truck pulled in I still have room in front of it to work on it 24 can be tight with some of these crew cabs or trailers with the tongue maybe a non issue with what you want but as long as you stay on 2 foot all your lumber trusses Metal is made for it so it doesn’t run the cost a lot
