I submitted my Arizona elk application today. I put in for a December rifle hunt that I should have about a 29% chance to draw.
I decided to stay out of the Alaska black bear lottery this time around. I'll probably apply next year (which would be a 2022 hunt), but I can do 4 or 5 lower-48 hunts for the cost of one Alaska bear hunt. Probably better to spread them out a bit.

Don't you have an Alaska Black Bear under your belt already?

Yeah.. Hard to not want to go back to Alaska though! Go to Kodiak for sitka blacktail. That's on my radar, although I'd probably go to POW. I saw a few hundred while I was there bear hunting. I think Kodiak would probably be the grander adventure, but POW is a lot more DIY friendly.

I submitted my Wyoming elk bull and cow tag applications today. Won't know those results until late May.

The population is doing well there, but it's not a highly desired area as far as points required.

I hope you pull at least one tag and are successful!

I'm looking in that general area for pronghorn and mule deer also. I'm getting enough pronghorn points to draw some decent units down there.

Out on the prairies of course. I've seen a couple decent mule deer in the NF, but not many at all.

I need to start researching both CO and WY units. Been buying PPs last few years.

My Arizona elk application was unsuccessful, no real surprise there.
I also submitted my Colorado applications for deer/elk/pronghorn, but just getting points this year. Depending on how the other draws go I might try to pick up a leftover 1st rifle elk tag.

Submitted my New Mexico elk application today. Hoping for a December rifle or muzzleloader hunt, but not great odds (about 17%).

Put in my Montana deer application today.
I'm going forward with all of my applications as usual. Hopefully everything will be back to normal by fall.
