I heard they’re going to implement a slot limit for antlered deer. Can’t wait for the details on that rule.

Saving all the two and theee year old bucks. The brown and downers can shoot the one year olds and the holier than though bowhunters can kill the mature four year old and older bucks. Iowa here we come. Antler points and width is what the restrictions will be on. |

The brown and downers can shoot the one year olds and the holier than though bowhunters can kill the mature four year old and older bucks. Iowa here we come. Antler points and width is what the restrictions will be on. Start shooting all the 2-4 yr old basket racks that almost touch each other. That type never get very wide. Neither the tall narrow racks. This reminds of Dr Seuss Sneetches. |

Hey, let's go for point/spread restrictions, but do it this way: If you like the idea, you sign up for it online when you buy your tag. Then it's binding, FOR YOU, for the next five years. Let people that want to do math and squint through the fog and obscuring brush when a deer walks by mess with it. You know that a lot of times you can only see one side of the rack, especially from the ground, making judging both the spread and number of points difficult. Can you imagine shooting a 20" wide deer that's illegal because it snapped off two points on the far side? Or a big thick-racked deer that's illegal because it's high and tight? A stupid idea based on emotions and not biology.
