Well I ended up having a very nice hunt. Even though we never fired a shot. Saw several Canada geese and thousands of snows and specks. The best part is that we had 3 generations in the blind today. Very nice to get us all out. Been awhile. Had a good time and enjoyed the conversation. Did do a little day dreaming of the short time that we had 4 generations out at one time. At least my Grandfather is still with us. Going strong at a young 98 years young. And he's always waiting on us to return home to hear the hunt story. It's not always about the kill, it's about the hunt, family and the tradition.

Sounds like the perfect way/day to finish out a season.

I saw two dead snows on a private lake Sunday in southern Greeene Co. Maybe the avian cholera is spreading?

Heading to south central IL next Friday and Saturday for second annual trip. We need a trip report and pictures! Back from the flooded fields of south central IL. Lots and lots of snows. Plenty of ducks and specks to watch but tough hunting with overcast skies and a huge feed less than a mile away. We shot close to a case of shells and brought down 10. Cancelled today due to weather. Next few days should be great with clear skies and warm weather

My son is flying to Nebraska with one of his collage buds on the 3rd for some snow goose hunting. Will get some pictures if they do any good. His friend lives there and has the grounds to hunt on.

Ground up my birds to make regular and habenaro cheese brats. Stuffing casings with a jerky shooter is not a fun job! Sausage turned out great!

Not a bad first day of shooting. 91 birds. I wouldn't want anything to do with cleaning all of those.

The boys used a cow silhouette they cut out of a piece of plywood to walk within 20 yards of a flock yesterday. They knocked down 51 between the two of them.
