Yesterday you could have found more waterfowl in the Sahara desert then you could have around here. They are really bouncing around a lot. Saturday, Sunday and even some Monday evening there was several hundred if not in the thousands of snows and specs around my area. And then yesterday they were all gone. Didn't see or hear a single bird on way home from work or when out doing the feeding.

So why are there so many snow geese. Don't some states have no limit and kill them by the truck load?

So why are there so many snow geese. Don't some states have no limit and kill them by the truck load? Because with out the right equipment there next to impossible to decoy. It takes several hundred decoys to get the large groups of snows to even look.

If they had stayed we had all of our group together that between everyone we had plans on setting up 40 to 60 dozen decoys.

And just like the song. The Boys are Back in Town. My fields are full again tonight. Work till noon tomorrow and then it's the final push of Friday, Saturday and Sunday before season closes. No lions, and tigers oh my. But there thousands of snows, blues and specks oh my.

I will probably be done after this weekend when the dark geese go out. Have stuff that needs attention now. Horses need worked with daughter and the race car needs wrapped up. But as many as I saw last night. I might get a permit and hunt a little longer. How's is the birds on your end?

Very few geese and ducks, only small patches of open water here and there. I hung it up last Thursday, washed all the decoys and rerigging the bad ones then put them up in the rafters.
Time to take out the IC tube and replace it with the TURKEY choke.
On a side note I did see 1 lone Snow goose hanging with a flock of Canada's, that's the first Snow I have seen in my neck of the woods for decades.

Last time I was out there was what looked to be a snow with the Canada geese. But not sure because there is a resident flock that has a Emden goose flying with them.

A few snows flying over our spot. The kicker is the high number of specks using the one lake. I'm sick as a dog, but we are gonna try it.
