Im not really one for change .... had a total of 3 bows in the last 15 years. Been using my current Hoyt since I believe the 2009 season and killed several deer with it. I was out Saturday morning and took a photo to send my wife and it was then that I realized that the rubber silencer had fallen off my bow ..... when I got home I started looking around the 'ol Internet to see about getting a replacement rubber stop and I also texted a buddy of mine who works for Hoyt to see if he had any left handed bows laying around. A little while later and Im in my drive shooting a new Hoyt Defiant 30. Nice little bow .... the entire industry just keeps getting better and better. The missing bump stop ..... The new deer killer ..... 6 arrows to adjust the 20 yard pin and these are arrows 7 and 8.

Awesome bow. I'm only on my 2nd compound since 1988. I upgraded three years ago to a Mathews. I guess I'm a little cheap., but it worked every year. I like Hoyt just as well.

I'd say 3 in 15 years is a lot!

Well, its more like 20 years if it matters. This one makes the 4th .... guess I get about 5 years out of them. When its time to start replacing strings and cables I just buy another. Hold on to the old ones though .... might need a backup of the backups backup one day.

I see the string, but where is the stick?
Nice bow. Should do the job just fine.

Put about 100 shots through it this evening.....slowly brought the weight up till the limbs were buried. Supposed to be 65lb limbs and it was pulling 62 a full turn and a 1/4 off max. I'd say maybe 67 or so now. Removed one pin from the sight and centered / resighted the remaining 4 for 20-50.
Might go kill a deer with it this week.
We went yesterday evening and saw 17 between the two of us. Nothing close enough to kill for either of us. Was more going just to go so was pleasantly surprised to get to watch the show. I had 10 antlerless deer come out to a bean field an hour before dark. They just happened to come out 60 yards away instead of where I was set up.

A couple of decades ago, I traded bows all the time. In 2000, I finally settled down on my bow buying, and hunted with that new purchase until 2008. I hunted with the next bow from then until I bought my current bow in 2014. So, I'm on my third bow in 16 years -- and I'll probably be hunting with this one until at least 2020.

I was forced to go from a right hand bow to a left hand one about 25 years ago. For a few years I went through a few while I got used to to the change. Even went back to RH for a short period of time early on.... accepted the fact the change was necessary and permanent and settled on the first of the 4 bows over the last 20 years.

Don't bow hunt but I don't see why you wouldn't trade them in every 5 years or so. The Let off on today's bows are crazy. I have an old bow that was given to me and my shoulder just can't be tough enough to pull it back many times. I'd like to shoot a modern lefty bow a few times to see if I could handle the high let off bows. P.s. nice looking bow.

I have been shooting a PSE Stingray since 1999. Been thinking about a up grade before my bow gets to old. Lol I just hate to spend the money that they ask for them now days.

Ive not run it through a chrono .... my short draw usually kills the rated speed. I would think with my setup (67 lbs, 28" and 440gr arrow) that it would be around 280 or so. IBO is rated at 331.
