Hi all, I've got a question and I'm sure this might stir up a hornets nest sure as a badger trying to get honey. My dilemma is this: I own some property and on this property I have a shed with a deck on the front of it. In the past I've thought that the deer went by it, within 40 yards or so until I had some concrete proof from my game cam. Found out I was spot on and it is a heavily traveled corridor.
So to cut thru the fat, should I or my father hunt from the deck? I'm on the fence about this, some days I think that it is ok to and others I'm not convinced. If anything I might point my father to it since he can't get around very well let alone climb and tree stands.
Thoughts. Like I said just looking for input. Thanks all and god bless.

My first concern is it legal then use your own ethics and morale to decide what right with you aas long as you stay within the allowed parameters of the law. I don't see a problem with it as long as you aren't baiting them in and you don't live in a subdivision or city with close neighbors

I don't see a problem, shoot if I had the proper setup and opportunity,I'd hunt out my back door or garage window.

Just because you are comfortable doesn't mean it's not hunting. Hope you get a good one sitting on a lazyboy.

If it hadn't been for a Okra stalk I would have shot one from the upstairs bedroom window. I mow the stalks down now LOL

It takes a good guy and respectful hunter to even ask the question.

Wish I had that problem. It is a hunting cabin, right? I would hunt the deck my self as long as I did not break any laws. Sa a matter of fact I know a dupity sharreff that shot one off the deck of his house.

No problem at all. I have hunted from barn lofts before. This is why I have no quarell with it How high up is the deck? It's on the side of a hill so the shortest distance from the ground to the deck is around 4 feet, the farthest point is around 7 feet. Thanks for all the input guys. As for any laws being violated there are none. I'm on my own property shooting onto my own property not crossing any property lines and there is a 0% chance it will hit a house.
Thanks once again and god bless.

My personal opinion shouldn't play a factor in your decision, if it is legal and you are okay with it go for it. If you yourself doubt, don't doubt yourself.
