Approx. 45-50 per acre i'd guess. Alfalfa was 25 or so. Grass hay was not as thick as usual. Everything has gone to seed now and is starting to fall over.(Need to cut asap). We are going to try to cut some maybe Monday afternoon to bale Thursday. Dang weatherman changes forcast everyday though??? Probably round bale more than square on first cutting that is left.

Had intended to take a 3 day weekend and knock out my new plots....then the monsoon hit and up the river comes. Again.
Was able to get down and do some saw work on access trails and will be in there whenever the river gives me the access.
My dream of beans this year is over....guess the first plots will be radishes, clovers, rye, oats and turnips.

We ended up with right at 3 inches last 2 days. Not gonna complain as we needed it. Hope to get back in fields in a couple days.

Do you broadcast the corn and pack it in or do you have access to a planter?

Tell me about it. Flood stage of the river my property runs along is 16' .... its at 20' right now and still climbing. It wont get high enough to put my entire property under water but it will likely wipe out a few hundred neighboring acres of beans and corn. It also keeps me from working on my property until the water goes down which wont be until late this week assuming we dont have any more rain north of me. I can deal with rain going right over me but when it hits north up comes the river.

Took a chance on the rain and sprayed a Miami county clover plot yesterday. This rain/heat/rain weather is really making the weeds grow fast this year Trophy Paradise Habitat Consulting "Trophies are built from the ground up" m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=852914431431752

Sprayed a couple clover plot's y'day myself. If rain keeps up I am thinking about going ahead and doing fall plot's in July. (Turnip's and forage oat's.) Have 2 acre's I plan on doing.

Boone why don't you make a trip over to my place and spray my clover for me so it saves me a trip. j/k anyway we planted forage oats last year and the deer loved them.
My spring plot was a bust. I didn't do proper weed control in the beginning and with all this rain the weeds have just went crazy and nothing I planted really grew.
I am probably going to head down in mid July to spray the clover then I am gonna prep my fall plot and get it mowed down and then come back and spray. If we keep getting rain all summer I will also be looking to plant a little earlier this year.

Haha for the right price I'll spray anything you want;D The rain has been havoc this year on A LOT of food plots....I think this is one of the worst years for weeds I've ever seen...and not just on my own plots, seems like it's everywhere. One good thing about clover though...it's incredibly resilient. It will come back really fast once the weeds are gone. He lives not to far away from our place that's why I made that comment. You are spot on about clover being resilient. over the past couple seasons the deer have just hammered our clover all year long and all it usually takes is one good mow in June and it explodes.
