Well my season has sucked so far. Opening morning went to my PRIVATE hunting spot to find a nice white single cab f-150 sitting there. Boy did I want to beat the hell out of the guys truck.. But instead I got the license plate number and returned home to get ready to head into work. Went that evening and sat the woods for about 4 hours. Had about 7 turkeys about 300 yards south of me 3 of which being either toms or jakes. They began to make their way towards me before they tucked into the woods and headed west. Once I got back home I noticed the same white pickup parked down the road on another Private woods I hunt so I ventured down there and sat by his truck till dark. The guy never came out surprisingly. So after about 15 minutes of being pitch black out I decided this nice gentleman wasn't going to come back to his truck with me sitting there. So I returned home. And if it wasn't 10 minutes later I see him kick on his headlights and start to leave. To his surprise I was waiting for him at the end of my driveway (still camo'd) just standing there wanting to chat. And as he slowly crept down the road and was about 100 yds from me he stopped, pulled a U-turn in the road and went back the other way. Needless to say I haven't seen him return. I've only hit the woods a couple times since then but with no luck. The birds have gotten a little weary I believe. Hopefully the guy hasn't ran them off. I will be returning to the woods tonight hoping for a little better luck this go around! I HATE TRESPASSERS!!!

Congrats to all you successful fellas. My opener got derailed with what I thought was the flu, so I rode it out and rested up for a weekend draw hunt. But it kept getting worse and I hate the hospital, so I suffered like an idiot all weekend for the family doc today to determine it's, pneumonia! Don't be an idiot. If you know you aren't feeling right, man up and get it checked out. So now I have several more days off with no chance of hunting at all. Dummy. Jay Well man...that's no good. Certainly nothing to mess around with! Get well buddy!

Get a police/deputy friend to run that tag and give him a call. Bet he won't be back after that. Trespassers and poachers, one of a kind:CHEATERS!

Thanks guys! Once we got to the land we through out some decoys and got our blind set up. Once we were ssettled I used a mouth call with a loud excited yelp and cluck. He responded immediately. I switched over to my friction call (posted a pic with the bird feathers and call in the turkey call forum) and he couldn't stop gobbling. He came from the side and straight out in front of us but on the neighbors ditch. He came on a 4-wheeler and the Tom split. I told Daphne to relax and that'd he be back. She was disappointed but was having fun so far. About 30 minutes later he gobbled in the same spot we first heard him. This time he approached from behind and we had no time to get the chairs or camera turned around. He was spitting and drumming behind us and putting on a great show. She was loving it! He started sneaking around the side of the blind and I took the first shot I could. Part of me wishes I would have waited for a better camera angle or even waited to see if he came to the decoys. But and the end of the day I'm very happy with the hunt! I'll try to get the
video cut down and shortened to post on here within the next couple days. Also, since my wife was with me I really want to get the bird mounted. Its not a trophy but still want it mounted since she was with me. Know anyone up my way?

I saw a little movement down in the corner of the field and glassed it. It was a bobcat! I watched it and it looked back in the woods and out came another bobcat. This one was about 50% bigger than the first one. The second one walked up to the first one and the first one laid down and rolled over on it's back. The second one playfully pounced on it.. They hung around for s few minutes and then went into the woods opposite of where they came from.
Yeah, that can shut birds down..
Neat critters...

Down near Helmsburg. Been an active morning right off the bat. Gobbling on the roost. Yelpers going at it. Flydown and 2 hens within 50 yds of dekes. I'm calling and guiding for a friend hunting his first bird. Dead quiet now except for songbirds.

Can't seem to keep a cell signal but on wifi. Very strange! Taking a lil break here. Buddy collecting himself. Just had a black snake slither past his legs. I'm just starting at my dysfunctional love triangle. A cheap foam hen, an inflatable hen and the Funky Chicken!
