I asked if he was aware that the ICO's in that area have ticketed the homeowners not the hunters in that area becuase of these hunts (thanks Pig). He was aware of this. hmm This has been a ongoing thing on the St Joe for a long time now.. Alot longer than me being out there...And if you read the story,, the CO's even said I was not in a bad area..

No doubt Mr Davis is behind this push.. No doubt in my mind at all.. And for the record,, the CO's asked me not to hunt that spot again,, so this year I never went near that area... This Davis dude caused alot of stink over the entire story.. And to top it off,, I never did a thing wrong,, he just didnt like that he was arrested Everyone told me I let Davis win by not going back there again this year?

Contacting Fry isn't going to change a thing..... you've got to contact the other members of the NRC and tell THEM to not support Fry's Bill., and then contact your local representative. To keep most up to date on this bill, and to find out the NRC Representatives go to: tinyurl.com/yqjnxuTo find out who your State Representative is go to: www.in.gov/apps/sos/legislator/search/

Clarification - The Natural Resources Commission is generally referred to as the NRC. The group you need to focus on is the House Natural Resources Committee. Two different groups doing two different things.
The Natural Resources Commission (NRC) runs the IDNR and promulgates rules authorized by the legislature.
The House Natural Resources Committee votes on legislation that determines how natural resources in the state can be regulated. There is also a sister committee in the Senate.

It is confusing..... Thank you Jack for the clarification.
Here is my letter to my State Rep.. Feel free to copy and use it as a template for your letters to your representative:
-------------
Representative Richardson,
On January 10, Representative Fry (D) from Mishawaka authored HB 1194, which forbids the hunting of waterfowl along Indiana’s lakes & streams in areas of high population density. His criteria for high-population requires only 3 persons per acre in counties of 250,000 or more. There are two driving forces behind this piece of legislation, the first is an issue with 2 residents along the St. Joe River, in Rep. Fry’s district, who were arrested for hunter harassment in October, 2006. These residents had routinely broken Indiana’s Hunter Harassment Law, by going outside their residences along the St. Joe river, and by using various noise making devices, thwarted the efforts of hunters to legally harvest waterfowl along the river. After several complaints to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, conservation officers working under cover observed this harassment, and cited two individuals for their actions. After hefty fines and legal fees, these individuals have gathered the help of Rep. Fry to fight this battle for them, by creating a piece of legislation that would limit hunting opportunities along mile after mile of Indiana’s river and stream systems.
The second force behind this legislation is just another attempt by liberals to erode hunter rights, and ultimately erode the 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Individuals who are anti-hunters, and anti-firearms look for opportunities to limit any situation that involves firearms, usually under the pretence that they are limiting said activities for “Safety” reasons, however after investigation there are ZERO issues of safety problems. Such was the case when hunters lost a large portion of Geist Reservoir that lies within Marion County. Residents didn’t like the hunting and gunfire on the water, and despite insurances when Geist was created in 1943 that it was for the soul purposes of water supply, and fishing, boating, and hunting opportunities, all hunting was banned inside the Marion County portion. Hunting was banned, even though there wasn’t a single instance of a hunter hurting a person along shore, or damaging property along the shore. HB 1194 is being created under the same veil of deception.
If HB 1194 is passed, hundreds of Indiana Outfitter’s would be severely impacted, as well as thousands of hunters who routinely utilize the State’s waterways as a location to hunt waterfowl. The wording of this bill is so vague, that if you had a landowner who had a wife and a child, who gave you permission to hunt THEIR stretch of property that is along the river, the hunter could not legally hunt it even if there weren’t houses within miles of the property you were hunting.
As an avid waterfowl hunter, taxpayer, and voter I ask that you stand up to defeat HB 1194 if it should make it out of the House Natural Resources Committee. We have tens of thousands of waterfowl hunters, and hundreds of thousands of hunters who are watching this proposal, and are firmly against its passage. We hope that you will stand alongside us and do your part in talking to your fellow Republican and Democrat Representatives and stop HB 1194 before it becomes a law.
Thank you for your time and consideration,

I sent a letter to Jerk Fry yesterday. I was very courteous and nice and let him know what i thought about his bill and also reminded him that the homeowners were the ones who were ticketed. And the hunters were found to be safe and within the law this is the response i revieved from him. Very classy guy.

The people who elected him ought to be ashamed. I run a charter fishing buisness as well as the waterfowl hunts and RARELY have I seen a fisherman on the stretch of river in question. Besides there seems to be an unwritten rule amongst sportsmen. I have never had fishermen interfere with hunters once they realized that we were hunting and the decoys were actually decoys and not real birds. Johnc911 you should copy that and put it in an editorial up here for the outdoor public to see. Kevin
