Got out this morning, but nothing moving. Signs, but looking like they are moving more in the dark. Saw a group of 5 while driving the other morning at 5 a.m. Trying to decide if it'd be worth it to hunt another property at this point, but I hate having to buy a license. I love my landowner tags.

4th time in a row... sorry but I am not sure that qualifies for frustrating this year. I have sat 20+ times over 100 hours and have seen less than 10 deer total. I know other guys have put in more time and have similar sightings with little or no harvest yet. Stick with it or switch up to evening hunts, don't get discouraged yet, plus anytime in the woods is a lot bett than time behind a desk.

No action whatsoever this morning in Monroe County. 4th time in a row I haven't seen a deer during a morning hunt. I'm definitely considering ending my season early, it just seems like I'm wasting my time in the woods! Definitely frustrating... Time is never wasted in the woods. you were "thouroughly scouting your area" for a few hours

Oh well allow me to elaborate a little buddy. I didn't mention my 40+ bow sits in October with 4 buck sightings, I was talking about lately, what really matters. 4 mornings in a row without seeing a doe on my food plot is insane, afternoon hunts also produced a big goose egg last week. As far as the "no time is wasted in the woods" saying goes, I'm all about being in the woods, but with Finals right around the corner there is a MAJOR opportunity cost associated with hunting. So I think I'm just gonna play it cool until muzzleloader. We are supposed to get some Snow this weekend! Maybe that will turn it around!

Well, to use a term like that, you must have at least paid attention in economics class somewhere. I'm impressed!

I was whining mid Oct. Squeaky wheel gets the grease; I shot my buck on Oct. 27. It worked for me. LOL It would be nice to be out there this weekend. I would love to track one in the snow ...even I can do this. I love snow; I'll watch just about any movie with snow in it. I'd much rather retire in northern Wisconsin than Florida. The misses on the other hand ...nnnnnnnnnnnnno

After hunting a week and seeing absolutely ZERO deer I decided to take my bow out and hunt the storm. Talk about a breakthrough! I saw over 20 deer literally running everywhere, heck i didn't even think I had 20 deer on my property! Saw a buck off of lifetime out at about 130 yards. This really pumps me up after weeks of barely seeing any deer, and I couldn't be more excited for muzzleloader to open tomorrow AM. I'm bound to seal the deal sometime, right?!?! haha Happy weekend and good luck to all in the woods this weekend!

I took a hike this afternoon in the deep snow to do a little scouting for next season. I suspected I knew a spot where does were holed up, and sure enough, I cut a deer track highway going into that woodlot. I followed it downhill through the thick woods, then it hooked like a horseshoe back uphill. All the sudden all heck broke loose, with deer jumping up and running away. There were 8 deer bedded in about a 15-yard area. Their tracks showed me where their escape route led to, so I'll file that away for future reference on the odd chance that I have someone drive that woodlot one day.
I then visited another wooded section where I knew deer crossed into right at daylight, and sure enough, another deer highway. I followed that one way around a hilltop and determined that they were heading to another hilltop where I had assumed that they were bedding. I marked a tree with GPS that would put the deer passing later into legal shooting light than where they first enter that section. I had said that I was done for the year, but with 4 days off work, I'm tempted to brave the cold again. LOL!
