Good morning everyone and a warm one at that. 41 degrees here with a light ssw breeze. Today, I'm by myself, so I'm sure to kill something back here in this grown up area where the deer tend to bed. Had a group of doe on the bean field when I pulled in this morning. Haven't seen that in a while! Hope the hunt is better than last night. 5 minutes after getting in stand, I had a doe come busting through. It was being chased by a beagle and another little black dog. Yesterday morning, one of the other guy had these same 2 dogs run 2 doe past him. Someone needs to tie up there dogs!  ( good luck everyone and straight shooting! |

Had a dog problem myself last night. If a dog gets loose then oh well it happens . But just letting them run free all the time is a different story

I haven't been to any of my private properties for firearm season but I'm making it happen today. I might sit all day. Just needing to tag a doe. I have never in all my sits seen so many squirrels. Could have bagged the limit in the first half hour. Dozens of them chasing one another. No deer sightings yet, heard 9 shots so far. Good luck

Why not shoot the deer as it comes past?? never been a real problem for me I get on my toes when I hear a dog cant remember the no. of deer shot dogs have sent my way more than 5

Well, since I'm a girl, 50 grains of loose powder is enough for me lol...I'm also using 295 grain hollow point powerbelts....its still accurate with only shooting the minimum load...good luck to ya! My bad I ment ur optima rifle. Oh ok..Lol ...the rifle is a different story..I shoot 100 grains loose powder with 295 grain hollow point powerbelt... |

Hunting camp Atterbury today. Very pretty yote under my stand around 9. Nothing otherwise.

Seen the same set of 3 does today. Had 3 come by around 930 and the same 3 come back by about 1140 sneaking right behind me. It's a nice day. Don't think I'll get down until the sun sets. I'm trying to get a doe but they were not within a comfortable range

Had a great morning. Had a fawn come in and hang around for awhile just after first light then I saw three does out in the cut corn field,the first one came by me at 10 yds but she was kinda small then as the second and largest one started to come into range she must of saw me move or something because she started blowing,turned and trotted off but curiosity got the best of her because she came back trying to figure out what I was. I wasn't going to give her a chance to get me again. I hit her in the center of her chest as she stood looking at me,she didn't run 20yds before she dropped. Then 12 more deer ran out into the field just looking around. After they crossed the field 3 more ran out but this time it was 2 bucks chasing a doe,nothing special a spike and a small 8pt.After they left,a small forky came in from a different field with his nose to the ground and walked past me at 20yds.He went off in the direction the other bucks and doe went. All of this happened before 9am. I guess this makes up for not seeing much the last 5 hunts.

Hunting the same cut corn field this evening. This time I'm using my climber so I could get 100yds closer to where the deer funnel out of the woods into the field. I didn't see anything yesterday evening on this field. Hopefully tonight I can fill my buck tag using my cva optima pistol. But whatever decides to show up is going down! Ill be back out Tuesday and Wednesday with my bow as well. Good luck everyone!

Back at Brown Co SP. had a couple of guys stop on the other side of a bottom I had sat down to watch - they didn't care so I moved, plenty of hunters in this area; we'll see
