Packed up and leaving Big Oaks. Had a great time. Only saw a coyote this morning. Did have some cranes fly over. That was cool! It was surely cold this morning!

Saw 1 doe and heard 2 shots the whole time. Very slow morning. We'll try it again this afternoon. JW froze his fingers off, thought we might have more action this morning.

Glad to read there are a few being gotten. Our season end today here in Minnesota. Like every year the plans were to head down to Fulton and Cass county for the last week of season but I have been battling a bad cold which has now turned into pneumonia. I talked momma into taking our 14 year old down so he will be hunting for the two of us. He is looking forward to the warmer temps....lol

Not a good season yet for me either but when it's COLD, I have one rule that pays out sooner or later. DOWN WIND of any cover where its warmer (or feels like it) and near corn. Heading there soon myself. God Bless and good luck Steve

seen one yearling this morning, it has been a terrible season at all my spots, Indiana better figure out the herd is under control or they are going to manage themselves out of deer and tag money

My worst season I didn't see anything this morning I normally see one every morning. I have not seen a buck since archery season.

Well, I was out for the first time yesterday up in Howard county and the deer were everywhere. Heard probably 10-12 shots around us. Saw a nice buck, but he was out of range. As for me, I was able to harvest my first ever. Took my shot, tracked it down and was for sure (as was my partner) that it was a doe that II had shot until we got up close and flipped 'her' over. As it turns out, it was a button buck. SURPRISE! Dude looks like a lady! Probably wouldn't have taken the shot if I would have known, but from 50 yards out through brush, couldn't tell. Still, I'll take it. And as for those YouTube videos showing how to field dress, man, am I thankful, although they didn't say anything about the smell! I'll be back at it tomorrow trying to fill that buck tag: )
Good luck all, and God bless. Be safe.

That stinks! I have been sidelined all weekend due to a jacked up work schedule. I am hoping to be back at it Tuesday morning! Just a side note, I typically take vitamins every day but I will take extra does during cold weather season. It won't prevent everything but it does tend to make certain colds come and go faster. Hope you get to feeling better soon and can get back at it! GOOD LUCK and keep the Faith!

seen one yearling this morning, it has been a terrible season at all my spots, Indiana better figure out the herd is under control or they are going to manage themselves out of deer and tag money[/b] Been saying it all year. Something is wrong, little to no sightings, very low shot numbers, very few other hunters in the field, ALL friends have same story. After a whole week of gun season, have seen 3 deer total at my spot, all nice bucks. Lucky to harvest the one and 2 at a park hunt. Overhunting, high doe limits (know very few people that take more than one deer though), EHD, low ammo supply, high gas rice, economy, what is it? Jay
