My oldest son is a full time college student and is also working full time hours at his job, that equals practically zero hunting time. Last night he finally got out for the first time this fall. His season lasted 2 hours! NW Greene County

Putting in a little stand time this afternoon and with a little luck I can connect on a doe for a little more freezer meat. Hoping that you park hunters in Versailles pushed something this way! Maybe the deer will think six miles south is far enough to feel safe! Lol I did see a fresh scrape on the way in that had just been freshened up!

Decided to get out to my urban stand this afternoon for a sit untill sundown. The farmer that tends to the hayfield decided it was the perfect day to start running his tractor. Oh well, I'll sit untill dark. Maybe he will run something my way.

Much quieter in Jackson co than yesterday . Wind is switching a bit. Hope things pick up. It is a pretty morn. Bucks must have been chasing by moonlight.

Man, that looks great. Reminds me of the last farm I had the priviledge to hunt before it became a coal mine.

Just jumped a little fork horn out of his bed I have named "Wheezy" because he coughs and sneezes all of the time! He stays bedded a lot so I wonder if he really is in poor health! Looks to be a good afternoon a little windy though out of the ESE! Good luck all!

Hunted this morning with a buddy (Tyler). He hunted south end farm and me the north end. I saw 3- 1.5 yr old bucks 1- 2.5 yr old and 8 does. All the buck's were on does tail's. By buddy (Tyler) saw 4 bucks 1-3.5 yr old 8pt the rest 1.5 yr olds and 9 does. He ended up shooting 2 does. He also said buck's were either with does or chasing. We have allready havested 10 does off the farm. (We are just overrun with them.) Interesting enough we saw very few does last year and more buck's. As we were approx. 3/4 of a mile apart these would appear to all be different deer? Our preseason goal was to take out 15 does off the farm (150 acres) and look's like that is not going to put a dent in them. I took a high 130 's class 10 pt first week of Nov. and that is only buck so far.

You must be in a great spot! 10 does off my place would almost wipe them all out! Sounds it's about to bust loose in your woods Boonechaser! Good luck!

I have a 5 acre alfalfa field and on any given night you will see 20-40 deer in it. I got 165 square bales off it this summer. (Should have got 300-350.) My intent was 2 fold, additional food source for deer and a little hay money. Wasn't thinking this little. (LOL) Gonna try to add an additional 5 acre's alfalfa next fall. I also do about 30 acre's grass hay. We have right at 10 acre's in food plot's counting the alfalfa currently. So I mainly hobby farm for deer with hope's of breaking even. The true benefit is that we draw ton's of deer to the farm, which is the primary goal. Seem's to be working.
