Rumor has it that Woodmaster put the hammer on a 3 1/2 year old Indiana eight pointer.

A 16 foot fall can kill or seriously maim someone for life. Thank the Lord it was no worse and I send prayers for a speedy and complete recovery for her...

Couldnt find a spot in bean field to hunt where the deer wanted to be. Got and idea of parking the quad and sitting behind it. Figured the deer wouldnt give it a second look. It worked, several bucks walked by and just glanced at the quad and walked on. They were all by themselves and grouped up. Saw no does. Back at it again tomorrow. Just trying to find "The" buck to shoot.

Called in for clinicals this morning, I had gotten halfway there and forgot my badge so my subconscious must've wanted to be in the woods. Got out about 6:55 a.m. at 7:15 saw a doe walk right past nice neighbors stand, kept waiting for a bang, but he must've had to work. Then quiet but so windy that at 9:30 got down and sat in the split tree. On my way up see tracks in front of property instead of the back where I was. So much for picking stands based on wind. Nothing this afternoon. Drove into Rochester and saw several groups out at dusk, mostly does.

Busted a doe tonight around 5:30. I could have shot her with a bow, she was so close. I think 10 yards tops. The new 358 Hoosier let her have it.

Congrats Michaeladkins! Heading out to a ground blind now! Glad the wind has laid down this morning! maybe that is the game changer I need or maybe get a few more days away from the full moon we just had. Either way, I hope some gives soon! Good luck and God bless you all!

Drove out to my stand, opened my bow case and realized I forgot my darn arrows in my buddies truck! I said oh well, I'll go sit and watch. Had 3 does and one right under my stand within the first 30 minutes. It was cool just to watch them. Got my arrows now and going back at it tonight. Have a great feeling about today with the weather being so perfect

Wind is picking up here. Have seen several deer including a knock down drag out fight of a pair of 2 year olds. Buddy took a crack at an 8 pt. Thinks he missed it.

4 does and an 8pter this morning. Didnt shoot. The buck came out the creek and darn near jumped out of it into my lap. If I didnt move at the last second, I believe he would have. Wind is really picking up again.

So far, I've seen 2 young bobcats running together. About an hour later, an adult bobcat passed. And three crossed the bean field about 70 yards out. My brother has only seen a spike at this point. Taking my daughter after scho tomorrow and that will be it until the weekend. Wish I were seeing more deer now, because all the corn is out.

Nothing for me today. Walked out of the barn and deer blew at me from behind it under the apple trees. Left my blind and walked up to the barn and seen a doe with two fawns across the street. Got inside, pulled up the window blinds and seen a doe run across the field and she had a buck in toe about 200 yards behind her. I kept watching and then seen another bigger buck out cruising and checking scrapes. all across the street! Wish they would come to my side!
