At the brown county hunt. Got one doe down so far, but man the drag out isn't gonna be fun. I'm a good ways back here.

Up my tree at Versailles. Variable wind and cold. Missed a doe @730 & killed on @740. No movement and very few shots.

2 does and a buck chasing. I got the itch to lay the smack down on one the does, but the sun in my scope stopped that from happening.
I adjusted my stand so that will not happen again. Live and learn.

Saw this guy while doing some stalking tonight. First snake I've ever seen during gun season. Turned out to be a good night. I dropped one with my 44 mag. revolver. This has been driving me crazy. What kind of snake is it?

It crested the ridge to my right and immediately got behind some brush and I lost it, couldn't see it even with field glasses. It popped out a few minutes later at 80yds and I took the shot, it went all the way down to the bottom - of course. 44mag levergun got it done anyways Proboards App won't let me load a pic for some reason

What kind of snake is it? i had one of those exact same snakes as a pet when i was about 6 years old...i let that thing crawl all over me..they dont bite at all...it did however end up escaping the coffee can with the screen top and my mom found it perched up over a doorway in the house lol...needless to say i had to set it free outside...but i really enjoyed having it as a pet for a short time...

Here is the pic of my doe Took me an hour and forty minutes to get her back to the truck. I was sitting in my stand and I look across the ravine and see deer tails running up another ravine. Thought there's no way I will get a shot at them. Then they cut across the ridge across from me and I'm still thinking I'm not gonna get a shot. Then they turn and head directly at me. They go down a steep ravine and I see the first doe pop out. She gets to about 15 yards and I get her to stop and shoot. Then I see the reason she was running. A buck pops up from the ravine after I shoot. I quickly (as I can because I'm shaking from adrenaline and cold) reload because the buck is still within sight. I pull the scope up on him and I see that he's mounting another doe down in the ravine. I shoot at him, but turns out I missed. I checked where he ran and the spot of the shot and there was nothing. Glad to finally get the first deer of the season under my belt. Need 2 or 3 more to have enough meat for the year.

Nice job dbd870! I left my stand for a bit but am back now. These winds are suppose to die down and 3, then mare at 4, and even more before 5. Hope that last hour is busy!
