2 squirrels was my only sightings tonight, hopefully the morning will be good Yes sir, I think tomorrow will be better. ...sounds like a Cubs fan. I saw one squirrel ...she's soaking in salt water now. :-))) Wooooooohooooo! I had fun. I know that I need to be patient and wait on the doe, but when I saw the squirrel, I just couldn't resist. yum yum

Went to the shoot site after dark. No obvious blood so I backed out and I'll go find him in the morning. He came in straight to my right, as I watched him come in I decided it has been so slow for me if he gave me a shot I was going to take it. About 20yds past me he turned & gave me a quartering shot - I took it. Aimed a little back because of the angle. I'm afraid I may have made a liver shot. I'll chase him down tomorrow I use lunenocks, however this one didn't light (of course). Suspect the arrow is still in him, or it passed through and buried. I know I hit him.

Sounds to me he was a dead deer walking. He will be an easy recovery in daylight . Good luck ..

I didn't hunt this morning because of the wind and the need to get the heat source from the woods into the house. I made a quick sweep to swap cards and noticed a scrape looked real fresh. It was fresh alright. An hour before I pulled the card one of my big 9 points was working it over, 8:30 am, daylight, 30 yards in front of my brothers blind. He was thrilled that he decided to help me today instead of hunt in the wind....

WOW! What a difference 300 acres of harvested corn will do. On my sit this afternoon, saw a total of 17 deer. 2 young bucks chasing doe's and at one point, I had a doe 7 yrds behind me and another doe in front of me at 5 yrds and they both walked off peacefully. Pulled my camera card from the last 7 days and wow, 5 different bucks late morning and late afternoon. Can't wait to get back to the woods in the morning for a short hunt before church. Hope to connect on the buck I saw chasing this morning. The magic is ramping up, boyz!

Rabbits in season now and they sure are tasty! I also plan on a food plot next year Oh yes, I really like rabbit, and they're really fun to hunt. I wish I had a rabbit dog. My dog will track the rabbits that go through my yard, but he's way to big to go where a rabbit would go.

Tonight I sat down in between a few trees on a field edge overlooking a large oak still dropping acorns. I had a couple fawns get to close. They both walked by 10 feet in front of me.

Found a very spotty blood trail and followed it for a couple of hundred yards then it looks like it stopped; we fanned out and did a search beyond, nothing. I'd say I barely hit the thing; thinking now I was very high or very low and the arrow is buried behind where it was. Quite possible I peeked and it went low, if I'm going to blow a shot that's usually my MO. I'd say he went on his way and lived to fight another day.

Hang in there DBD!! The fat lady ain't sang yet! Got my "winterizing" done this AM so I've nothing but deer hunting on the calendar for the next 10 days. If I don't connect this week, Saturday I am going to declare WORLD WAR D and take the bow, a dozen arrows, the 870 and 25 slugs ........and all 11 tags!! GRRRRRRR! We will let the other teams get comfortably in the lead then post pictures of em in a pile! (wishful thinking) God Bless

I'm about to walk out the door to head for WI, I have class there next week, then it's down to KY and we'll see what the 270wsm can scare up. back home Sunday night and then get up early for the first State Park reduction hunt on the next morning. I'm hoping by that evening I'll have a bunch of points for the team!

New property today. Knocked on doors all week and found a nice spot. Got really sick yesterday but luckily it was a short lived flu. I was worried because I haven't hunted in a while and had planned for today. Good luck everyone

Two does and a fawn tonight, just feeding in the picked corn. No antlers running. Must have missed my inside shirt pocket when I put my cell phone back (I have an alarm that vibrates when it's end of shooting hours)SOOOOOO.......gotta go find the sonovagun tomorrow.
Somebody just shoot me and put me out of my misery. LOL
God Bless
