Hope you are right; they are saying 30mph gusts today, just hoping the chasing phase will help overcome that. Historically that's enough wind that my track record isn't very good. No birds no squirrels no nothin - except wind. Not feeling it this am. Think to morrow will be better I didn't know that it was windy until steve said something about it. I saw one squirrel this morning and that was it. The wind would shift too. I may throw windy days in there with rainy ones and find something else to do.

Started climbing down at11, halfway down, a shooter is walking but about 50 yards. I stop, pull my bow back up and he doesn't even notice and keeps going. Then10 minutes later my target buck comes nose to the ground within30 yards. I only needed one more yard for a clear shot but never got it. They were both oblivious to everything around them.

good news . found deer. got there about 7:30 went to stand to look for arrow.could not find it so proceded in.direction.deer went.to spot i saw him standing..nothing, no blood no deer. i knew what i could see.from stand so i knew where.deer could not have.gone so i started looking in direction he was faceing.did a sweeping circle back and forth looking in all tree tops and tall weeds. aftet about 45 min located him in a mud puddle about 80 yrds from where i had last seen him. never found any blood. during feald dressing i found it was a liver shot. did not touch lungs altho the lungs were very dark and full of blood but no visable damage. i am sure glad i backed out last night and did mot trust my gut feeling. it was a 7 pt 130 dress. been doing the wash out and hanging up. also mowed leaves so this is first time been able to get on phone to post. have picts on phone but do not know how to post.

guess i explained recovery but bib not explain how it came to be. I had a small doe come wondering buy so i was watching her. 15 yds at one point. she continued to my right and hooked up with her mom at about 90 yds whom i had not seen till then. at that point i noticed a third deer. ot being a buck. he stood and looked in direction does went so i took and grunted one time. he swung his head and stared my direction then turned tward does. i grunted again same reaction after turning to look at does i got my doe can and used it twice he turned and came my way passing 20 yds in front of tree i baad to stop him and shot. leading to the other post

Saw the first bit of chasing around here this morning, a yearling and a 2 1/2 year old 8 pt after a doe. This afternoon, I'm in a stand that has been consistently producing double-digit does sightings, so hopes are high. Wind is all over the place though..

Have an arrow in one, young buck. I got tired of no action so I took it. Heard him go a short way & then nothing. That was about 5:30. Going to wait till 6:00 & look at the shoot site

Woooooohoooooo! Awesome dbd. I really don't see how you fellas sit there year after year. You guys are real hunters. I'll do a food plot next year ....hopefully and hunt a few weeks, but that's it. I'll be after the tree rats and other such creatures with wings.
