The family has arrived at our property for a brief evening hunt, I'm sitting in the ground blind with my daughter. Here is our view out the front. you can see a lot farther than last time I was here! Daughter will use my crossbow if she gets a shot. Wife is in "the office" tree stand with her compound bow. It's a buck only evening for them tonight. Turkeys are yelping. Squirrels are coming down, It's a beautiful calm evening. To top it off, there is a brand new, bath tub sized scrape right in front of my trail camera. 30 yards behind where we're sitting. I should have some good pics when we get home!

Just saw a good one 140-150 basic 12. 30 yards, but he had a sidekick buck that wouldn't look away. Wasn't looking at me, but in my direction. Any movement and they would've both been gone. Nice to FINALLY see a shooter.

Had a nice 8 pt. come in about 20 yards. Urban property and haven't tagged my doe yet. Had to let him walk... But great evening hunt. Things are beginning to pick up finally

Things are still sloooooow for me. Its like a switch was flipped in the last week and the deer just disappeared. Several hundred acres of standing corn south of me is likely part of it.

Dad owns property right on the line little south of coal city where were you hunting Yes, that's coal country there. The cabin that we stayed in was on Full Moon Lake??? I think. The acreage is over 1000. The spot we hunted was a ~20 acre corn field tucked back in the woods. I probably won't hunt deer again until firearm season. I need to prepare for waterfowl. My neighbor's hunting buddy is an upland hunter; I'm wanting to meet my neighbor's friend. Good luck sprint! I live about 5 miles from full moon look, I'm also ready to waterfowl hunt, went out tonight seen 4 deer, one dandy 150-160 class, dad ended up killing one

10point... I thought in an urban deer zone you needed to harvest 1 antlerless deer before an antlered. If not then mr. Urban buck just spent his 9th live.

If you are hunting with urban tags you have to but otherwise if you shoot one now without getting a doe it just counts as your statewide buck like anywhere else. Once regular season starts in the urban zone you can hunt it under the same rules of anywhere else.

I'd like to get one that big some day. Have you gotten one yet? Lots of shooting going on Saturday morning. I did see doves; are they still in season? I heard geese and saw some ducks. I'm ready for the birds, but probably just because I shot a buck. LOL I would like to shoot a doe with my shotgun. When I was in Clay Co, I figure someone on HI lived close to where I was at.

Got into the blind about 25 minutes ago here in Bloomington. Been awfully slow the past few days but I think it's gonna hammer down in the next couple of days.

Yeah, it sure is acting like they aren't chasing yet. talked to one of my other neighbors last night. He said he has a couple of 8's on his trail camera, but only in the middle of the night. I haven't seen a single buck so far. Averaging 2 doe sightings a weekend!

Jon, the south zone early waterfowl season opened Saturday morning. We went out, but didn't do that well, but I sure wish I had my buck by now. I'm, by no means a great waterfowl hunter, but I'm ready to get out and knock some down during the early season. Going again Wednesday morning, since its going to rain and I won't be working. Once you get started, you will know what I'm talking about.
