We did manage to get a couple, Including a guy from this site getting his first goose (jajwrigh) Jajwrigh with his 1st goose. Travis with the other one And wondering why he missed agian Allegiance I have no idea what he is doing

Looks like fun. I've been mowing all morning and haven't seen a bird anywhere around. I even took a trip to the (livestock pasture) pond where there's always birds and failed to see any. But a couple mornings ago I saw 3 groups working a cut wheat field near me. All I need now is some permission to thin the population.
Congrats on your first bird Jajwrigh. Although I shot it a year ago, I remember my first bird like it was yesterday.

On the way home I saw several flocks of geese flying overhead. It always seems to work that way. When I prepared him for the freezer there were geese honking loudly, behind my house. Guys, I now have the lifetime fever too! ;D

They know better than to honk loudly behind my house. I think thats why Im so bitter today. A couple months ago I could have killed my limit in my underwear...

Good job guys!!!
Got out for a few hours this afternoon looking for my dogs first retrieve. Figured doves would be the best bet. Only got one legit shot at one and flat missed. Only saw maybe 12 doves period. My dog didn't break on the shot though. That's good as I know he can retrieve. But I wanted to see what he would do with a semi-live bird.

I got out today dove hunting with 8 of us total. Everyone killed limited out. Still haven't had Daisy in the field to see if she'll work like the other 2 dogs out there with us.

actually aaron is standing there wondering if he is ever going to get his first bird. His first bird? It looks more like he is trying to remember where he put something.......and he may have found it inside his coveralls!

I was looking at the field we hunted on Google Earth....... If you contine West down 500, eventually you come to a large pond / small lake with some houses on it....what's that body of water and are there any fields near it that you have permission to hunt? Also, those North bound geese........there really isn't any lakes/ponds of size at all North of where we were hunting.........do you think those flocks were heading all the way to some of the fields around Pendleton, or even heading Northeast toward Province Pond or areas near the Big Blue River over at Wibur Wright?

I've seen a decent size group on 9 right before you get to 600N at that pond behind the subdivision. Too bad no one has flushed them east 4 miles and north 1 mile. I know of a pretty pond prepped for some bird slaughtering. ;D
