one is 10 miles the other 2 are about 5 miles , The distance is not the big problem for me .It would seem that all of them close at 5 pm and they are also closed on Sundays .
This is why in the early season I do not shoot a doe at all through the week .I simply do not want it to go bad on a 80 to 60 degree 24 hr hang . And I will not take time off work to check one in and proccess it .So by default I have Fri afternoons hunt and then saterday morning other wise the only way I shoot is if its a real good buck and then Yes I will miss work the next day since that is the only buck I will get all season long.
There it is that is why I will not shoot a doe in Oct through the week or Saterday evening or Sunday!.

Depends on the day of the week and time of day. Sometimes it's just a mile. Other times it's more like 10.

Never checked the exact distance, but I'll make a SWAG of 8 miles one way. Open until 9PM Monday thru Saturday, 7PM on Sunday and they serve some good chow too.

Exactly. I have 1 3 miles away but that is the hours they keep - except they often close by 3 or 4 on Sat. I can always drive to Greenwood I guess! ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) That always has annoyed me, especially when I've used telecheck south of the border and know how nice that is. Now with this absolute travesty they're trying to push on us; it really makes me not want to hunt here at all.

But, as someone said above, sometimes it isn't the distance, it's the time of day. If they ain't open they do ya no good.

my check station is 18 miles back to Spencer Bait and Tackle, seems like the biggest problem is the check station you go to is not "OPEN" when you go by in the evening hunts.........just a thought, then maybe we need a self check-in (for afterhours)where you write in your own info and drop it in a box,......Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge has that system........turkey scout

One is 5 miles but they are a meat processor and usually not open, plus they don't like checking in deer unless you leave them there. The other one is 12 miles. h.h.
