www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-10-27-prez-money_N.htmIn one respect the Obama campaign rhetoric is right... An Obama Presidency would not affect that kind of elite gun owner/ownership in the slightest. Rich, politically connected "I've got mine" Fudds will always be able to buy their 4 & 5 figure custom guns. Just ask the members of the Politboro... Boycott Cooper Rifles.

Email him and tell him how you feel, I did!
"I have lost any respect I had for your rifles due to the fact that you have publically supported Barack Obama. He is as anti-gun as they come, and you will regret your endorsement when after your sales drop off due to this endorsement, Obama makes your livelyhood illegal!"
Sincerely,
Rod DeRoo

I'd love to see his sales drop enough to put him under, what a foolish decision.

They've put a clarification up, was up last night: www.cooperfirearms.com/Still doesn't make sense to me why a gun manufacturer would give ANY money to Hussien, regardless of when it was given.

Money to them was like a vote to us back in the primary. I voted for Hillary ...... lol. Im not saying I believe their explanation ..... but it is plausible.

I do not see how he could think Obama is a better cadidate than Hillary wheh it comes to guns.
They are both anti-gun, but Obama is MUCH worse...

Now on the cooper homepage:
Regarding the USA Today Article. Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc. did not contribute and does not support in any fashion the campaign of Senator Obama.
Nine months ago Dan Cooper (personally) made an online donation to the campaign in an effort to help defeat Hillary Clinton and in protest of American plant closures and the shipping of jobs overseas. Three months ago he made yet another donation to the McCain campaign and the RNC totaling over twice that given to Obama campaign.
There is no doubt that the article in USA Today has caused a considerable response. To this end we are encouraged and stand with our fellow NRA members and supporters of the Second Amendment and against those who oppose it

Unless "Cooper Arms" sells common stock, as the owner, Dan Cooper IS "Cooper Arms". Since Dan Cooper/Cooper Arms DID support His Odiferousness - at a minimum in his effort to defeat Hillary - his PR assertion that "Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc. did not contribute and does not support in any fashion the campaign of Senator Obama" is an outright lie. His Fudd non-apopogy doesn't wash with me either. i147.photobucket.com/albums/r316/MACDD/dancoopercampaigndonations.jpgIt's not like Ron Paul was throwing away cash. Naah. Better to give it to His Odiferousness than any Pro Gun/Pro Constitution candidate.

Some of you may think there's an honest apology from Cooper...try reading the full article: www.usatoday.com/news/politic...ez-money_N.htmSpecifically Cooper changed sides, he said, "probably because of the war. And also because the Republican Party has moved so far right in recent years."He also likes Obama's message about "the retooling of America, which involves the building of middle-class jobs and helping American small business be competitive with those overseas."So, here's our options - 1 - The apology is fake 2 - The apology wasn't written by Dan Cooper 3 - USA Today misquoted, in a very big way, and will soon print a retraction and pay Mr. Cooper a lot of money for it. Pick 1, 2 or 3...

I pick both #1 and #2. ;D I don't see how American small business will be competitive at all under Hussien. The company I work for is about as small as it gets (under 10 employees, counting the owners) and with all the requirements and taxes that will be forced upon business, I highly doubt there will be many small businesses left. This is going to cost Cooper some business, for sure.

Not only did they pull the non-apology, they pulled their dealer list to prevent people from contacting their stocking dealers. I guess they are worried that their damage control won't work.
