Yeah too late on the dealer list pull. Arfcom has a ridiculous amount of members, who all are invloved in other gun/hunting boards. I would wager him completely Zumbo'd by the end of the weekend.

Scratch the estimated timeline in that last post, the board of directors of Cooper Firearms apparently fired him.

It really doesn't surprise me too much that it happened that fast. There were many people that I saw/talked to that were PO'ed about it yesterday/last night over on Specialty Pistols, and that's just one forum....... The company knew they had to do something FAST.

He'll probably just move behind the scenes. "Dude, how in the he** did you get fired from your own company!" (From the movie Friday, but modified to fit the situation) ;d

I'm sure he's going to be getting at least part of the profits...... Still have no plans on buying a Cooper rifle, even if I did hit the lotto jackpot!

Yep too late - I'd never even consider one now. I had no plans to buy a custom bolt gun, but you never know what I'm liable to decide I just have to have in the future. I do feel bad for the investors in his company - they'd probably like to choke him.

If a company is being ran by a board of directors it can fire whomever they feel needs to be fired even the president of the board,,,,BUT..I seriously doubt if this has taken place or will take place at Cooper. On the other hand his decision to back Obama DOES NOT AFFECT the quality of guns that they make at Cooper and I for one will not stop buying a very high quality gun that they produce there....
GO MCCAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...On the other hand his decision to back Obama DOES NOT AFFECT the quality of guns that they make at Cooper ... Very true. That is probably why Cooper decided to back Obama. Companies like his who provide a niche market product to a largely rich and well connected clientel will be one of the LAST companies to be regulated away by an Obamanation. Like the fancy Double Gun Makers, he won't be affected by tha Handgun, "Sniper Rifle" and EBR bans that are waiting in the wings. It's called selling out your brother (industry) to save your own neck - and it never works in the long run.

Yep, they would get around to his products - those evil sniper rifles....... How does it go: either we hang together or we will all hang separately. I wouldn't take one of those rifles if you gave it to me now; I'd be ashamed to be seen with one.

POSTED ABOVE is totally a statement that I do not believe.....I'LL TAKE OR BUY A COOPER GUN ANYTIME ANYWHERE...You have no idea as to the class of these guns, they're simply tremendous guns no matter the politics of the owner of the company that makes them!!!!!!!!!! If this was the case I can think of many items that you would not wish to purchase if you knew the exact politics of the company or it's owner.

That's true, but this company blatantly s**t on their customer demographic. I don't care how much "class" their guns may have, I wouldn't take one for free! I have standards.

Is he the only outlet for a high end rifle?

Stupid question in my opinion..no he's not the only place you can buy high end guns at but if you prefer Remington,Winchester, etc. feel free to buy from them I have and still will also but Cooper makes about as good a gun as you'd want.
