The American voters will decide in November who 'deserves' to be President 76chevy wrote the above...... Deserves..Hmmm let me see...McCain I'd say "deserves" to be elected If that's what you're basing this election on...What has Obama ever done besides hometown politics? ? NOTHING!!!!!!! I'd say that 76chevy was never in the military, but I could be wrong.

The only person who "deserves" to be POTUS is the person who will actually stand by the Oath of Office and uphold the Constitution - i.e. force the gooberment to do ONLY those things the Constitution allows it to do.
Only Ron Paul stood on that plank. BO McChurian certainly doesn't. Palin is lightyears better enough to make me think about voting (R) this year, but the FACT still remains:
The only person who "deserves" to be POTUS is the person who will actually stand by the Oath of Office and uphold the Constitution - not subvert/dodge it.

If the above is true..and it should be..then I guess we'll be the only country with out a leader because nobody and I'll say that again..NOBODY IS PERFECT!!!!! Not you,not me..NOBODY!!!!!!

Speaking of being moved to tears--after working for more than a year exclusively with people having developmental disabilities, I cried when Palin spoke about advocacy for children with special needs. What a class act. I hope she becomes president someday.

I'm not asking for perfection, only to uphold THE LAW as codified in the Constitution. Pray tell, why does it require devine perfection to uphold a law written by Men? Or are you simply saying that the Constitution means nothing to you because it is simply an abstract construct that can be redefined at will?

I like McCain from the get go. Any person with grit enough to withstand 5.5 years as a POW in VietNam survive and succeed in life has proven to be a LEADER and a fighter.
I dislike Obama more and more each day I hear a sound byte of his. I had a discussion about the election and the running mates. A few that are not for McCain brought up Palin's inexperience and how she is a heartbeat away from the presidents seat if elelcted. I bout fell over and tried to point out that Obama had even less experience then she...And they plan to vote for him. I didn't understand that logic, asked them to explain then quit talking politics. I knew it would go nowhere fast at that point.

I've tried the same argument with some Dem friends.... they seem to feel that Barry's 2 years in the Senate is somehow lightyears above Palin's 2 years as Gov...... The problem with their argument is the fact that even IF they are right (which they aren't), Barry is running against McCain, who kicks his azz on resume comparisons.....
I'll say it again, the Dems can feel their big moment slipping right through their fingers. History will show what a genius McCain was in picking Palin as his running mate.

I can't figure out how or why you could be a gun owner/hunter and be a stinkin democrat and support someone like Hussein Obama. It makes absolutely no sense to me.

I totally agree with birddog! Also, freedomhunter, the supporters of Hussein Obama are nothing more than senseless sheep who support any fad and charlaton that comes along! They don't have the sense to explore the issues and how they, themselves, will be affected. " The simpler their minds,. the more they will fall prey to the Big Lie. The Victor will never be asked if he told the truth." Adolphh Hitler

You statement and quote is true for both sides. Anyone who puts on blinders and says just because this guy claims to be of party X he is a great guy and gets my vote. Some republicans are as much of a threat to what we stand for and represent as some of the democrats. We don't have to look too far from home to find examples of Repulican led campaigns to restrict hunting and shooting.

IMO, the issue this election cycle most affecting peoples voting decision is the low level of approval given all to all our forms of federal government. I believe this is why "change" is such a popular slogan this time around. A large portion of the voting public has no clue how our government works, and who to hold responsible for what. Hence, the POTUS is held to account for almost everything good or bad that happened during his watch. Add to this the fact that the left wing of the Democratic party has an intensely irrational hatred of President Bush, the major media outlets are owned and controlled by these people which has led to ridiculously biased reporting of both campaigns, and it begins to be more easily understood how otherwise reasonable people can profess their support for Obama. When it comes down to crunch time and these same people walk into the voting booth, I believe it will be a totally different story.

I can't figure out how any one can be a gun owner and hunter and be a stinking republican either and support people like junior or McCain. They both lolly gag along holding hands with the democrats and support the brady bills, assault weapons bans and confiscation of firearms from law abiding citizens exactly when they NEED THEM THE MOST. May be there's more than one breed of mindless sheep. Red ones and blue ones.

If these people were going to change something they already should have. How's the price of gas in Alaska? I don't know but I doubt it's any better.
And if any politician is listening I have some advise. Do the job you were put there to do, finish it and then run for a new job. This total BS of getting paid to do one while running for another makes me vomit instantly and I can't hear a thing your saying from then on. Change that for a start.

Which of this list if any do you think is with in the legal authority of the federal government to take action on?
1 make health insurance "affordable"?
2 formulate a "national energy policy"?
3 regulate how many miles/gallon an automobile gets?
4 pay large cash rewards for inventions dictated by the Federal government?
5 make Americans pay a portion of their income into a medical savings account?
6 make prescription drugs "affordable"?
7 promote the rapid deployment of information systems and technology that allows doctors to practice across state lines?
8 Promote telework so that workers can spend less time commuting?
9 Make health care more portable so that workers don’t lose their benefits when they switch jobs?
10 change how we power our automobiles and rejuvenate our automotive industry?
11 For every automaker who can sell a zero-emissions car, commit a $5,000 tax credit for each and every customer who buys that car?
12 retro-fit Americans' homes to improve energy efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint?
Which if any of these topics do you believe will lead to smaller government and less regulation?
Which will lead to bigger government and more regulation?
