Also that state is surrounded by foreign countries, granted one is Canada, but who is that a short distance across the Bering Strait?

Bottom line, the office of POTUS is an executive position. Obama has zero executive experience.
Newt said it best: "I don't know of a single thing Obama's done except talk and write"

The Dems are scared to death..... Sarah Palin is everything they wanted Hillary to be, but she doesn't hold a candle to this woman.

And those of us who have or do live there are quite happy to keep it that way... particularly when most of the reast of the Free States in the Western US are being infiltrated by Socialist Unwa onians, Boregonians and Californicators. Give me open land, Oil and Bears. You can keep the rest. The sooner that I can figure out how to get back the better.

I am not 100% convinced in my mind that Palin is ready to run the country but I also have the same issues with Obama.
Out of all 4 of the folks on the two major tickets I do beleive that McCain is the most qualified to run this country. he has demonstrated his leadership abilities all his life.....I really think McCain DESERVES the job, he has surely earned it.

NOBODY "deserves" to be POTUS. That's why we keep getting entrenched Machine Politicians rather than Constitutionalists. We got McCain rather than Paul because he "deserved" it. We got Dole (and lost an election) because he "deserved" the nomination. We have got to quit with this line of succession BS.

Birddog, To address one of your many statements. No, I have never held an elected public office. I do hold a local chairmans position in my union. I was elected by over 200 of my peers and coworkers. Now let me ask you a question. Does my 2 years experience as local chairman qualify me to be president of the Teamsters? I will assume that the answer is no. A governor with less than two years experience and one speech has been nominated to be the second most powerful person in the world. Do you see the correlation? While watching the R.N.C. did you notice that all the speakers and candidates could do was sling mud. Not a single one of them stated what they were going to do for our country. Mudslinging is a fear tactic used from within the the party when they don't have a plan. But I do think the republican party has a plan. I believe the plan is to muddle through the next four years under the current agendas and bid business controlled lobbying that has plagued our nation for the past eight years. Oh, and if you have ever thought that Bush has had a bad foreign policy see what will happen if Mccain is elected. By the way, Sarah Palin did in fact use a teleprompter throughout her entire speech as do most speekers at the conventions. To touch upon your Obama vote here are the facts. Obama-Missed 182 votes (38.8%) during the current (110th) Congress and missed 185 of 1,098 votes (17%) since Jan. 6, 2005 (as of Feb. 15, 2008) Mccain-Missed 261 votes (55.7%) during the current (110th) Congress and missed 592 of 3720 votes (16%) since Jan. 22, 1997 (as of Feb. 15, 2008) Biden-Missed 193 votes (30.3%) during the current Congress. Palin-well you get the point. One last thing the only person that deseves to hold the office of the President of The United States is the person who is elected by public vote. You shouldn't vote for someone because you feel sorry for them or they make a flashy speech or an empty promise.

Even the NBC, CBS, CNN toadies agreed that Obama's acceptance speech was mostly attacks against McCain. They said came across more as a VP speech than a presidential candidate's speech. I've been around a long time and voted in every election that I could and I have to say that Barack Obama is the MOST unqualified person that I have ever seen that is a presidential nominee of a major party. Palin has a LOT more executive experience than Obama and Biden together. The teleprompter went down halfway through Palin's speech.. she winged it from there. elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/04/palin-overcame-teleprompter-problems-missing-hard-copies/

How many pieces of legislation did any of the three Senators introduce, specifically Obama vs McCain during the current Congress? I'm not fired up about McCain at all, don't get me wrong. However, he is WAAAY more qualified than Obama to lead the country, especially when you consider that all Obama has done (to quote the true statement from Newt) is to "talk and write"..... Just once I'd actually like to vote FOR someone rather than AGAINST someone else.....

ihunt2liv, You're so far out in left field on this issue that I won't even go into it with you but I will say this..SHE'S THE BEST THING THAT EITHER PARTY HAS RUNNING FOR OFFICE ..ALSO THE TELEPROMTER BROKE AND SHE WINGED IT THRU HER SPEECH AND DID A FANTASTIC JOB OF IT..NOW OLE OBAMA CAN'T EVEN GIVE HIS NAME WITHOUT A TELEPROMTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!...CHECK YOUR FACTS ON THIS.......

Actually only part of it. She was interrupted and the teleprompter kept going so she ignored it and went on without it.

LOL I think the "lady" that was a dragged out was the same one that was dragged out the night before when Palin spoke. How did she get back in? Rushing the stage screaming while a presidential candidate is speaking is not too smart. There is a time and place for protesting. During a speech (on either side ) is not the time to do it.
