When the OBR trial ends and *IF* it is NOT re-instated.....
What will your "statewide" buck limit be?
Will you volunteer and hold yourself to one buck per year?

I never liked the OBR from the start and will hunt whatever the state limit is. If its two then i most likely will harvest two bucks. h.h.

I think it will stay at a one buck limit. It's a great program. Makes people more selective and allows a few more bucks to reach maturity.

If I am fortunate to kill the first one I will most definetely HUNT the second one.
Just because I am HUNTING the second one does not mean I will KILL the second one.
In the last 10 years of the two buck limit I doubled up twice.. I spent a LOT of time trying to get that second one though.

I'll take what my state will allow, and that is only one................... for now!

One no matter what the limit is. I'm a birdhunter not a deer hunter.

I'll take what's legal to take if it doesn't see me first . Limiting myself to a single buck if the law allows more doesn't make sense .

Personally I would like the DNR to mandate a point rule (first buck as today, second buck must carry more than 4 points on one side), and an earn a buck program (must harvest a doe before second tag is given). At least in my neck of the woods, the buck to doe ratio is out of wack. The earn a buck would help that, I think. Scott.

I would take the first mature buck that I see and then hunt for a second larger buck.

If the DNR allows two bucks, I will start taking two bucks again. If not, I am happy just being able to be out deer hunting in pursuit of what the law allows. It is always my goal to try and fill my tags with the mature primary breeders in the areas I hunt.

With only having one buck in my entire life I really don't see that it would matter a whole lot ;D.

I'll try to take 2 if the law allows, but they will both have to be mature bucks and I don't see that happening too often.

IMO the 1 buck rule is working. There are plenty of does out there for meat.

Woody?
"Where is that beating a dead horse thing"? This is too dang funny, two more years and a question raised on what you will do. Three years of complaining already by the same minority.
Sounds exactly like another issue, but i won't go there.... prolly get me the permanent ban a few would like.........

Well Joe...it's not a complaining thread. It a "what will you do" thread.
AND.....you forgot to tell us what buck limit you will operate under if the trial is not renewed.

It is a purely hypothetical question and it is interesting to see what the replies are. Some are saying that the OBR is working, but haven't stated what they would do IF the limit stayed at two bucks. That really isn't answering the hypothetical question. You can go to the "other issue" (crossbows) anytime that you like as long as it is in the proper forum and there is no name calling. Simple rules for everyone..
