Hi everyone,
I decided to take up hunting again after a 12 year hiatus due to medical problems. Moved back to IN 6 years ago after 26 years in Wisconsin where I learned to hunt deer and small game. Found this forum while looking for Indiana hunting info and it looked like a good place to join and stay for a long while. I'm hoping to get to know some of you and maybe even find some good places near Anderson to hunt squirrel, turkey, and deer.

Welcome. Swamp People fan? Yep, I am. I also like watching Troy on the Outdoor Channel's Wildgame Nation. He'd be a blast at hunting camp. |

He shot a 'management' buck only to find out it was a younger buck. The guy at the lodge wasn't real happy, but not much you can do at that point. |

Hello Everybody, my name is Jered... I was recently PCS'ed here with the military... I am an avid hunter and in the past spent every open minute in the field... I have a stepson who is 8 and is starting the same way we all did... He saved his money to buy a 28ga. to squirrel hunt with... He is doing well with it... We recently left Ft. Rucker, AL, where he learned to hog hunt and managed to help trap a few... Our current delima is we obviously do not know anyone, as we are new to the area, so hunting spots are hard to come by... He asked me to take him hunting the night before last, and I had to explain to him that we live a little over an hr from Morgan Monroe and it was a school night... He took it pretty hard that we couldn't just walk out and hunt like we used to, and replied with missing home comments...
With all this said, it lead me to this website where I've read quite a bit to get a feel for the folks on here... It appears to be a great site with ppl to look up to... I'm going to allow him to get on here and poke around with me a little... if we can't hunt, maybe we can teach him to talk about hunting... And if anyone would happen to have a spot near SE Indy (Franklin TWP), that they wouldn't mind a youngster shooting a few bushy tails, please let me know, I will leave my gun at the house... just feel bad I taught him to hunt and then the Army took it from him...

Doc W, I am new as well to the site... I have been gone for sometime with the military, but grew up about 15 minutes from where you are now... I know of a lot of state hunting property down by you that will hlep you out a bunch... i have managed to get back to indiana with the Army, but live 3 hours north, so my old spots may become your new...
