Hey everyone, My name is Dustin Hayse. I am 21 years old and I live in Bloomington. I always come here to get advice for the season and to see some of the pictures posted from your recent kills but I never had an account to post things myself until now. I have been a "dedicated" hunter for about 2 years now, before that I went to college in Evansville where I got to hunt 1 weekend a year! I mostly hunt deer and turkey but I think I am going to branch out next year to other game. I hunt on my family owned 320 acres that butts up with the NSWC Crane base fence on 2 sides so I get to see some monster bucks from time to time. I am still learning all the ropes and will probably have many questions for preparing for next years deer season.

Woody,
I went to USI for 3 years before transferring to Bloomington. I lived in Greene Co. until last year when I bought a house in Bloomington. I work down at Crane so you get to see some nice deer walking around throughout the year.

Welcome to the site Dan and Dustin. It is nice to have some fellow younger members.
Dustin, I wouldn't be surprised if your experience at Crane has other members coming to you for advice when they get drawn to hunt there.

Hi Dustin & Welcome, I use to hunt on property that Bordered the Southside of Crane NWSC, both Squirrels & Deer. The land is located just north of Loogootee; and I remember back in 1973 I was hunting up there and Crane had their first "Gun Hunt" sounded like a war Zone! I shot my first Deer at Crane in December of 1977 a 130 pound Doe.

Yeah I know that sound, I hear it every Sunday when I hunt my land. I know where you are talking about but my land is on the northeast part, about a mile or two east of the Bloomington (north) gate. I keep hoping that one day all those deer will just get scared and start hiding out on my farm while those hunters shoot up the base!
