I'm in the market for a Brittany pup again. My old dog is 8 now and by the time I get a new one trained she'll be 10 so it's time. I'm looking for hunting stock, female that will be about 30-35 pounds full grown. It would be helpful if the litter whelped from March 1 on but nothing over 12 weeks and never under 10 weeks old? Any leads out there?

On shotgunworld.com under sporting dogs there is a post about a 15 week old pup for sale. Post states it was bought by an elderly couple who were unable to handle it and returned it to the breeder.

Jack, You might want to check with Nolan Huffman in Connelly Springs N.C. he's the man that owns Nolans Last Bullet the father of one of my Brittanys..nothing but the best when you get a dog from him!! He has 4 males now that are for sale and he can be reached at:828-874-3284 plus you can check out his web site at: www.beelinebrittanys.comNote: He'll be in Amo the last week of this month beginning April 23,that would be a good place to go to visit with him.

Jack, I see that you got yourself a Grand Daughter to Nolans Last Bullet....You won't regret the choice!!!! My young male Sage is a direct son out of Nolans Last Bullet,I went to N.C. when he was born just to hand pick this dog and I've never once regretted it!!!!!

I'm wondering how my old dog (9 yo Britt) is going to act when the new pup gets here. It will be chaos I'm sure for a few months but this is probably my last chance for a bird dog so I intend to make this one count.

Jack, I'd say the old dog will be just fine with the new pup about like my two are..Ha!! The pup which is now 5 years old is so spoiled that he ALWAYS wants it his way and my older female which is now 12 thinks she has to have things her way,so you see the problem here..two dogs which think they personally want everything their way or not at all.......and for some reason I love it!!!!!!!!

Jack,
A few years back we had an older cat that didn't have too much spark to him. He just laid around a lot. He had the house and yard all to himself for a long time
I rescued a 5 week old kitten and broght him home. At first Reuben James would have very little to do with him except to hiss at him. It took awhile but Reuben James got used to Murphy and they became buds.Reuben James then thought he was a kitten all over again and he would romp for hours with Murphy.
It might be that this pup will have a very positive effect on your older dog.

Now that is a sweet, sweet picture. How is the older dog taking it? I believe the little one may survive if she makes it past this week-end. Old dog starts growling the instant she sees the little booger. Jack
