That would be the one! ;D
I'm still drooling over that 454 HH. I think I'd even set it up with a 2 power Nikon. Now I just have to save my pennies.

I had a wonderful time meeting everyone yesterday and can't wait to do it again. As much as I enjoy reading all you all's post I enjoyed meeting and talking with you all even more. The day simply wasn't long enough and I wish I could have stayed longer. I hope even more members can make it next time.
I want to thank all of you that made it for coming and making the day such a blast. I also want to thank all of you for coercing drgreyhound into shooting for the first time, especially Art for loaning her his trusty .410 with the "good" shells ;D and singleshooter for all of his patient instruction. Singleshooter, this big lug also wants to thank you for letting both of us enjoy several of your "toys". ;D

That .454 was a lot of fun and even though I would imagine my face looked a lot like drgreyhound's shooting the 7-30 water when I shot it the first time, I liked the big boom, I liked it a lot. I keep thinking about shooting it and the PS90.

First off let me thank all the members of this site that make this place such a great place to visit every day. That bonding that we do here carried over to the FIRST Annual Hunting-Indiana.com Homecoming.. The location picked out was perfect. It was within no more than a three-hour drive for just about all members. The close proximity of the Atterbury shooting range was a big plus. The shelter house was adequate for our needs. The good Lord blessed us with great weather and our red legs and faces show for it. FOOD - Wow! What can I say about the food? Meats included wild hog, venison, brats, deer sausage burgers, hot and bar b q wings, hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hot dogs. Side dishes are too numerous to mention with desserts of “dirt pudding”, “dump cake”, pudding and Oreo cookies. We all ate till we were stuffed before heading to the skeet, trap fields and gun range. ENTERTAINMENT - LOL… what can I say here? Throwing all these guys and gals together in one setting is entertainment in itself. Just think of a fast forward humorous thread in person. No doubt if some parts had been on video we could have made some money on America’s Funniest Home Videos. More fun than a barrel of monkeys is a saying that might apply here. Of course the waterfowlers were the funniest of all. Goose calls filled the air, especially when another waterfowler was taking his shot at skeet or trap. The one that really cracked me up was the on hits we would hear the “dying goose” call. The miss one sounded like a laughing goose.- Matt had a $750 “necklace” of calls that had to weigh 10 pounds. SHOOTING – Most shot at least one round of trap and skeet. Teams were made up, but no one seemed to care which teams won. Just some good natured ribbing. Some guys are very, every good on these ranges and some of us showed rust or first time jitters. We could have done a lot better if it wasn’t so windy, a bad trap house that sometime threw and sometimes didn’t, sometimes threw broken birds and a slow finger on the button. At least that is MY excuse. No one shot a 25 straight, but we had a few come close. I was impressed with two young men in our group when they shot. Chris and Jake were busting birds pretty regularly. It is great to see the youngsters involved. Singleshooter had just a small part of his arsenal there and it was REAL impressive. Next time I am going to spend more time on the range and try some of them out. I really liked shooting his 5-7 handgun - teeny tiny little bad boy bullets. By the time I got home I was flat worn out.. I did a nose count and we had 32 members and their family there. Great turnout for our FIRST Annual Hunting-Indiana.com Homecoming. I want to personally than all that showed up and brought such good food and fun attitudes. I also want to apologize for poo-pooing this idea last year when someone brought it up. I’ve seen many other sites try this and it never got it off the ground and it died on the vine. My mistake was applying that rational to this group. I’ve found out you guys and gals say what you mean and mean what you say. I cut you all short last year, and I’m sorry for that. I’ll never doubt you all again. We WILL do this again yearly. Thanks to all that attended and to all the others, I wish that you all could have been there too.

No worries Woody. I brought it up last year, and I didn't feel you cut me short at all. We put it to a vote, and there wasn't as much interest last year. This year with the huge growth we've had, we were bound to have more interested parties. I'll do my darndest to make it next year!

For putting up with this I should have slipped Mr. Spamcake a few more points! Awww! Thanks Singleshooter...and I really mean it when I say you're the greatest "shooting stance" instructor of all time! When I was up with Art's .410 I was telling myself "stand like Deertracks' avatar, stand like Deertracks' avatar, lean, lean..." I hereby resolve to continue to shoot...and pay more attention to whether the bird comes out of the machine broken or not before I attempt to blow it away... ;D (And yes, the lug and I are quite "enmeshed"... ;D ) That was about right! I'm surprised the guy was paying as much attention to the little wet spot on the bench--I'm sure he was enthralled with your very impressive "arsenal"!! This is true...the 18 inch concrete hood covering the shooting area blows all the noise right back-at-ya! Next time I will need some muffs along with my ear plugs... I second this expression of appreciation from "the lug"...thanks, thanks, thanks for generously letting me shoot all your toys with your ammo! And yes, Singleshooter was extremely patient--a special thanks to him! I do appreciate it! ;D You mean you noticed?!?!

Thanks for all you did Woody! The signs looked great......dang, whoever did that logo is 'da man!!!! We all thank you for giving us the forum to exchange our thoughts, lies, and stories. Without you, we all would be typing away with nowhere to send it! Now....let's clear up a few things about yesterday. First, would someone explain to me how you are supposed to shoot trap with your action on your shotgun open? AHHEEEMMM!!! I wouldn't dare name names.....the guilty party knows who they are!!! Too funny when the rangemaster has to say, "Uhhh sir, your gun wont fire until you chamber the round....." LOL. Second, I am ashamed that I forgot to mention what a bright future the hunting world has with Jake and Chris. Several times these young men busted strings of clay that would make anyone happy. Both were very safe in how they handled their weapons and both are excellent shots...... I saw 911 getting a few pointers from them when he thought nobody was looking!!! And, lastly...... the memory card on my camera is full of "material" to be brough out at later dates. My mind is racing with ideas! For those of you not already signed up, John has a signup for golf on July 1st....we've already got a huge group going and they are always zanny and whacky just like yesterday. Everyone's welcome to play, even if you've never swung a club! We'd love to have ya with us on the links!

I truly enjoyed meeting all you guys and gals yesterday and look forward in doing it again next year. I didn't get to spend as much time with some of you as I did others and apologize for that. It was like we were trying to cram 28 hours into a 24 hour day! ;D The food was fantastic and the cooks did a great job of grilling up the hot dog, brats, hamburger and deer burgers. I ate 3 sandwiches and still didn't get to taste all of them. There were some great looking dishes that I didn't get to taste because i was so full. Travis and John did a good job on the pictures and captured some great moments in time. The shooting range was impression but like Travis said never go without full earphones. I used ear plugs and got one heck of a head ace from too much sun and ka....boom. There were some pretty good shooters on the line. A couple of youngsters were pretty impressive. I think the hecklers with the goose calls cost me my 25 on the trap range.... If you are trying to figure out who I am in the pictures on the range i was the guy with the woody (ruger woodside) . It was a long drive for me, 280 mile round trip but well worth the time to meet some very interesting fellow Hoosiers. Maybe next year we could make this a two day event and campout. h.h.

More pics: This is the Blackhawk that held the ATF agents who were looking for a few of our members and all their firepower: This might be my favorite pic of all.... If this isn't a hunter's truck, I dunno what is! I believe this 'rig belongs to jkd (Kirk). Awesome collection Kirk..... I love it: Chico... "testing" the food for safety reasons..... Way to take one for the team Chico!!! Woody's laptop..... He feared that there would be a coup to overthrow the H-I regime while he was away, so he was constantly monitoring the situation: Huxbux (in white), Turkeyscout (green) telling the youngster (was that Jake?) how good looking they are: mbogo wondering if there's any nearby water he can go shock: drgreyhound thinking to herself, "what the heck have I gotten myself into today!" Matt Haase getting a close-up of some studly guy that he spoted in the crowd... Woody, being warned by officials to keep his group in line, OR ELSE!!!! jkd waiting for another broken clay to come spraying out of the trap house: Younster Jake thinking to himself how cool it must be to be like that guy behind the camera.... In the background Huxbux & Deertracks scheme how to empty all the lead out of Art's shells, all the while Singleshooter looks on at the shooting spectacle before him: Hornharvester..... shooting with this guy is just not fair!!! John getting ready to unleash the fury of the Benelli that he stole from the gun rack.... dbd870 sights in a gnat he spoted trying to fly away: And this pic was shown earlier, but I just had to show it again cause it's so gosh-darn cute. HoosierCanuck's 6-week old pup.... holding her Hunting-Indiana business card. AWWWW!!!

Again, Travis, you take awesome pictures! I love the spontaneity of them... You should post the ones of me (attempting) to shoot Art's .410! And Hoosier Canuck's little one is just too adorable! He needs to post more often in the Campfire... (Hoosier Canuck, not his little one!)

I want one.....it's now on my list of crap I want!!!!! How are them legs feeling today??? Yes, I agree...your collection of fine cameras proved a fine comparison to Singleshooter's fine and very extensive personal artillery! And I think most of us have added to the list of the "crap we want"... (I used fine three times in one sentence there...) The legs are all right...I had breakfast with mbogo, and he laughed at the red mask on my face making me look somewhat more like a cross between a lobster and a raccoon (sp?) than like drgreyhound. I have been slathering Noxema and Aveeno oatmeal body balm on my burns since I got home yesterday in order to marginally quell the fire. You will be happy to know that I am now able to sit in Panera, type a paper, and hang out here on HI without being in too much pain. I am getting quite a few looks in here just on the basis of my burnt face--I'm wearing pants, so no one knows about the legs! The greatest thing about the burns is the reminder they are giving me of the great time I had yesterday, and I don't mean that facetiously. In the words of our student association president-elect in my grad program--you all rock! ;D

Looks like a good time was had by all in attendance.
I'd like to attend next year, for certain. Would've liked to attend yesterday's festivities, but that truck won't drive itself(when it does, I'll be out of a job!)....will plan ahead better in the future.
