Finney, keep dreaming and fighting your losing battles. At least you stick to it and give it all you got. Your definition from Wikipedia also says what you are saying is a subregion of the Midwest, therefore we are the Midwest.

I’ve destroyed one hornets nest so far in the barn overhang ceiling and countless wasps nests all over the place. With my daughter being allergic I spend a lot of time trying to keep all of them away from areas we frequent.

Once I started using parchment paper I’ve never turned back. Clean up is much easier and if I didn’t use it water would pour out of the thing all over the counter with frozen wings in it. We have a mesh tray that slides into ours, kinda like an oven rack, so all the mess falls straight down to the burner and out the door if there’s to much if we didn’t use it.

They are great and will probably become a staple once you start using it. It’s good for lots of things. I like it because I can put totally frozen wings in there and they still come out crispy and are done quick. Usually things are done in an air fryer before the regular oven would even be preheated.

It’s always more than you think once they dig into it. When I hit a deer a few years back the estimate went up like $4000 once they started taking things apart.

You did what you could with the time you had. It’ll happen with the ole gun eventually.

We ended up with a drum, channel cat, one crappie, and two bluegill. Everything went back in the lake this time. Really made it known that I have to get a trolling motor before our next trip. This baiting lines stuff all the time is actual work. Trolling is much more relaxing to me.

Wife wanted to get on the lake today so we are sitting here in a little cove on Monroe dunking some nightcrawlers and just enjoying this beautiful day. An eagle just flew right over us too, which is always cool to see.

I’m with ya deadeer think I’m done for the season. Unless I wake up and that bird is out back somewhere they can live and grow bigger for next season. According to my wife we are camper shopping tomorrow and she wants to fish on Monroe on Sunday so I can’t complain about that.

The one I chased yesterday here in my backyard is out there gobbling again. A ways off in the field it sounds like, but hoping he will head this way mid morning like yesterday and this time I have a plan and will be ready.

Now it’s your turn Woody.
I spent a couple hours yesterday trying to close in on one here at the house. Couldn’t get any closer than about 60 yards and he ended up heading towards the farmers field behind us. Did have a hen come in right beside me about 5 yards as I was trying to call the gobbler in.
