I got pellets for $6.99/40# bag. I think I got enough to cook for all of NW Indiana a few times. Lol. No shortage of cooking again this year.
I did get a couple of briskets on the discount shelf for $34 & $35 recently! Heck yeah!

And continuing on from the 2023 thread, Since I'm gonna watch the Super Bowl alone I was trying to decide on chow. I figured I'd use some of the meat in the freezer and come up with something instead of ordering out! I dug out our ole ragged and well used Mennonite Cookbook.  I'm going with a bit modified "Aunt Sandi's" Prize Winning Meat Loaf and "Cousin Diane's" Baked Stuffed Potatoes!   Interestingly enough, notice how the contributor is duly ascribed with the husband noted first and the wife's name in parentheses. This is as symbolic as the reason the women wear a "covering" on their head. It's a biblical thing we were taught since our youth (not that I'm Mennonite anymore). Biblically it could be paraphrased as the head of every man is Christ. The head of the woman is the man. And the head of Christ is God. Anyway, we'll see how this turns out... |

I modified the meatloaf, going half and half, deer burger and farm raised Angus. Turned out real good! A friend gave me some belated birthday muffins at church this morning. I'm full as a tick on a Redbone Coonhound!  |

maybe I'll look tomorrow. Today is a good day to be a pyromaniac. 7-8 acres is going to go up in smoke today, and I also have 4 ponds that I'm going to try and get the shoreline grasses burnt today too.

Cleared all the neighbor ladies' drives this morning and then fixed Abbie's favorite burgers for lunch. Venison 1/3# burger, colby jack cheese, bacon, fried onions, and Bourbon bbq sauce. Abbie likes hers with just the cheese and nothing else.   |

Didn't bother leaving the neighborhood today. Abbie wanted rabbit for supper and I had squirrels. Sides were frozen sweet corn from last year, and my garlic mashed potatoes. Good day of rest except for all the work. 🤣  |

Quite the busy day. Between some work on my Beemer bike and my John Deere Model B tractor, It was time to take a break from the greasy hands. So we cooked up some stir fry with the turkey breast from Tyler's tom last year, And baked a batch of wheat bread! Watching Purdue now! I'll get back on the motorcycle and tractor tomorrow!    |
