All my plumbing is this pex stuff. I'm thinking getting the tool and clamps might be a good idea incase this happens again. I think this clamp just wasn't tight enough. It held for 14 years though.

The inlet line to our water heater blew out of the elbow tonight. Luckily I was in the next room and got it shut off in a few seconds. I was able to wiggle the pex clamp down and put a hose clamp on it. It's holding for now. On top of that, my main shut off valve handle broke off and the water heater valve handle stripped. Should I replace it with the same style clamp or go with something like a shark bite elbow?

It's been so warm here the trees are starting to bud. This is our Lilac tree in front of the house. I've never seen it do this in February before Maybe because it's March now? ROFL It was February when I took the picture

After 2 weeks in the mountains in a coleman dome tent, I upgraded to a Kodiak Canvas cabin tent. It handled a wind storm with no problem. It was a big investment for me, but it was worth it.

I used some PVC end caps under my cot legs to keep them from poking through the tent floor. I had some laying around the garage and wanted to find a use for them.

I think they are finally done degreasing. The water has never been clear like this. It's been a week since I changed it last. These should be ready for whitening. I put 3 more skulls in to start degreasing. My big one from 2022 is in there. I'm anxious to see it done and on the wall.

I went on two camping trips in Colorado for 2 weeks each. The first trip I used a Cabela's XL cot. It was fine for the first week and a half but then it started bothering my hips for the last few nights. I've used this cot on a lot of other shorter camping trips and it works fine. You can put a yoga mat on it for a little extra padding.
My second trip to Colorado I packed a tall full size air mattress. I slept great the entire trip. I actually slept better there than I do at home but I think that was just the difference in air.

I dont think I know anybody personally that thinks Biden is doing a good job. While that is true for 99% of the people I know too (One thinks that Biden is doing a great job), I do know a couple of people that would NOT vote for Trump just because of his personality. I can't understand that. I think a lot of people don't vote for him just because of his personality. It doesn't matter what how much good he does for this country.

I'm glad it was good news. I have a very close group of 6 friends. 2 have lost their wives to cancer and a third is battling it right now. It has made me extra cautious with my wife. I'm always on her about getting all her tests and screens done.

Ticks

Do you suppose there are chemical differences between individuals that cause ticks to be attracted to one person -vs- another? Reason I ask is because I hear lots of people that mushroom hunt, turkey hunt, fish, etc. constantly dealing with and worrying about ticks. I do as much of this outdoor stuff as anyone and see a few ticks, but rarely have issues. Maybe I just stink? I think there's something different among people. I get chiggers terribly bad. If I walk through my yard barefoot I'll have chigger bites up to my waste the next day. My wife can do the same thing and not get a single bite. Once things green up I don't go in the woods or weeds without soaking my body and clothes in off bug spray and permethrin. One summer I had to get IV antibiotics twice for infected chigger bites. I've been like this since I was a kid.

I went for a walk in the woods today. I just found a small tick buried deep in my chest. I don't think I've ever got one in February before.

I believe it's a Tavor TS-12. Unfortunately, when I pulled it out of the brush I saw the orange tip on the barrel. It looked pretty real up until then. I guess it's an airsoft or something. I'm going to remove the orange tip, clean it up, and hang above the doors inside my cabin/work office. I'm using pallet boards to finish the walls inside. With the orange arrestor I say it not a real gun …. Toy or BB It's definitely not real

I took a little hike around the property at work today and found this sticking out of the brush over the hill from the state Hwy.

I wonder how Practical Sportsman is doing. He probably got rich selling his magic mud and no longer has time for us. LOL That was good entertainment when he posted!
