I was on the lake. Lol. I never post location details online. To many trollers out there. We did catch some crappy. Mostly all trolling. Not many shallow last few days.

Well guys after a very disappointing morning at Missy I was planning on going home after fishing with my dad this afternoon. About 5 o'clock we started hearing some gobblers so I'm now at a part of it I have never been to sitting in the car while it's storming. Hoping to check it out real quick. May end up going back to my parents house for the night and trying it again in the morning.

Heard one gobble fairly close at day break. Now have rabbit dogs running not too far away. This happened when I hunted here at mississinewa about 10 years ago.

I crappie fish a lot. I like to long ling troll but also cast some during the spawn. I hardly ever use minnows. I use a lot 1/6 oz jigs and road runner type jigs with bobby garland baby shad and lake fork baby shad. Always use crappie nibbles also. I did really well down in TN the last week in March. Going to Mississinewa tomorrow.

Killed my best bird May 20th in Pennsylvania. Our season is short so it can happen any day.

Yep. I live in Lafayette but my parents live not too far away. Not going to scout until evening before. I know the area I'm going to try.

Talked to four other hunters today. Not much going on at Missi. One fella said he saw what he thought was a hen. That is it. Today I worked two set ups. First set up in the supplemental area off 650 I heard a gobbler ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LAKE. Called for a couple hours at check in station K. No boys looking for girls. I did hear three gunshots though. Might have been hunting partners shooting at each other because of boredom. All these great reports sure are making me excited for my hunt. LOL

Dont recall how many people are actually drawn to hunt each session, but there was ALOT of cars parked and guys hunting in pairs. I thought you had to hunt by themselves and not take anyone? Maybe it changed this year, but I thought thats how it was in the past. Jim- I hunted near the flats 1 day and near the flying fields the next day. Only the drawn hunter can hunt. You can bring someone with you though to assist.

I have a three legged chair I use when hunting in a blind and that thing gets uncomfortable quickly.

Was at bass pro last week and saw these chairs. Did some research online and found I could order exact same thing through Walmart at a cheaper price. Ordered online and did free ship to store. It's real comfy and will be easier to sit longer than when resting up against a tree.

In order to get a definitive answer I just called the Missi DNR office. The Wildife officer will call me back by tomorrow. No assignment when hunting Missy. You are free to hunt anywhere they allow hunting.

I just thought it was weird they say scouting in the PM but everyone else can use the property. I wouldn't want to scout while people are hunting but it seems like hiking and running dogs is the same as scouting. I have killed most my birds later in the morning when hunting turkies and the one time I hunted missy there seemed to be way too many people around.

So the directions say you can scout in PM during the season. But it also says when hunting you will be sharing the property with mushroom hunters, hikers, horse back riders, dog runners, etc. I remember when I hunted there about 10 years ago I had dogs running between me and my decoys.

Hi All, I have managed to loose my couple of private spots over the past couple of years so I didn't even know if I was going to turkey hunt or not this year. I applied for the last weekend at Missy and got drawn. Can anyone suggest a starting point? I hunted there once about 10 years ago but not sure where to start this year. I hope to make a scouting trip or two and maybe add in some crappie fishing. Any help greatly appreciated. You can PM me. I will add that I was for sure drawn and not part of the mistake.
