I just bought my kids a turkey tag to hunt the youth season and saw that Kentucky isn't selling adult NR turkey licenses.

As far as the rifle rules and the license and bag limits go, it is not that hard to follow if you just read it. If someone has no desire to attempt to learn the regs, I have no desire to hunt the same area they do because if they don't care to learn, they just won't care at all about anything else either. Not difficult to understand, just needlessly complex. You can shoot any animal in Indiana with a high powered rifle except turkeys, migratory birds, and deer on public land(unless you are using a handgun). I can't shoot a doe on some public lands unless I do it with an archery or muzzleloader tag I have to buy a different tag for each weapon I use to buck hunt, but one tag allows me to doe hunt with any weapon. Again, not difficult, but unnecessarily complex.

It's pretty mild, I would think any kid could handle it.

That's awesome. Unfortunately working in a school doesn't create much flexibility in time off. If you ever do any trips during the first two weeks of October, I'll do my best to join you.

Bad angle, there are 2 legs. My only complaint is the legs are hard to hook back in.

About a year ago, the Pennsylvania Game Commission decided to move the opening day of deer season for firearms to Saturday in hopes of encouraging more hunters to participate.
“While not everyone was in favor of moving the opening day of deer season to Saturday, most commissioners felt that after talking to the hunters in their districts, there generally was more support than opposition, and the change would enable more hunters , especially youth and young adults, to hunt on opening day,” said Board of Game Commissioners President Tim Layton.
“Now this idea seems to be backed up by increased license sales, which is extremely encouraging because, quite frankly, there hasn’t been a lot of positive news to report on that front in recent years.

Another difference is land usage.
Iowa's Forest Cover. Iowa's Forests cover 2.7. Million acres or 7% of our landscape.
Indiana has 4.7 million acres of forestland (just over 20% of IN land base).
Iowa farmland percentage 89%.
Indiana farmland percentage 65%.

Indiana 2019: Archery days: 97 Firearms days: 16 Muzzleloader days:16 Special antlerless days: 11 Youth days: 2 Iowa 2019: Archery days: 85 Firearms days: 14 Muzzleloader days: 28 Special antlerless days: 16 Youth days: 16 Indiana: November gun days: 16 Iowa: November gun days: 0 That's what makes all the difference. I'm not asking anyone to give up any days, just suggesting that a slight move in timing will yield tremendous benefits in quality. Iowa does have a total of 43 gun days and virtually unlimited buck tags.

The real question is if it will be legal for public land.

I would assume the same as a removable plug for a shotgun. Don't believe a shotgun requires a plug for Deer Hunting in Indiana. I meant in regards to species that require a plugged shotgun.

I wonder where the current removal Breech plug muzzleloading long gun falls in the code? I would assume the same as a removable plug for a shotgun.

This is what the hunting guide says:
A muzzleloading firearm must be capable of being loaded from only the muzzle.

It will be interesting to see if they are legal to use during muzzleloader season.

Just a barrel, and a mag right? The 556 BCG is good to go for a .350? Just a barrel and a mag is all you need.

Is the ending of 1/1/2020 mean that the antlerless and reduction seasons should not have allowed hprs after the new year?
