When he was working as a heavy equipment mechanic and had access to it my dad would fill the runs with acetylene and light them off.

Bob,
As good of a hunter that you are you probably wont need any help, but when someone else joins in I'll add them to your team..

For a doe I wouldn't think twice I have done it with both bow and gun. Meat in the freezer bottom line.
For a Buck probably not but it would depend on how late it is in season and what the rest of my schedule is going to allow me to hunt, again meat in the freezer is priority.
I will hold out for the bigger buck and may even shoot it off the back porch but there comes a point where I have to make sure we have enough to eat.
It is legal therefore ethical if clean and quick.

The only deer hunting that can be done on days other than the 4 public hunts and 1 disability hunt all on Sunday would be Archery by employees, contractors and military all have to actually be assigned to physically work on the base. 9 deer on a Monday can and probably did happen. I don't understand why it would end up as an article in the paper though.

The word I got yesterday was 68 deer taken for 416 hunters. Won't know the Buck to Doe ratio for a while. That is a very slow day for the first hunt at Crane. Everybody I have talked to saw few if any deer and heard under 20 shots all day.
I did see a couple very nice deer being checked in when I left at sunset.

Ive used slick tricks for several years now and they fly and work great. I tried the spitfires, they flew well and never had any serious problems with them. I shot G5s fixed blades for one deer and turkey season and was really disappointed with the blood trails. I am now trying out the 2 blade rage and have found they fly as well as the slick tricks I will give them a shot for this season with slick tricks as backup. I have a real problem with extra moving parts but also like to try new things. To me its more a choice of what you feel most confident with.
