What kind of broadheads do you use with your crossbow? I just got an Excalibur Equinox last week and need to get some broadheads before the season. I have always used Muzzys but I have heard fixed blade broadheads don't work well on crossbows. I apprecaite the help.

I have always used Muzzys but I have heard fixed blade broadheads don't work well on crossbows. I apprecaite the help. The Muzzys could work. Shoot them and see.. I used the Wasp SST Hammers fixed blades for about 5 years. They flew well but left a couple spotty blood trails. I've switched over to NAP Spitfire mechanicals. They fly to where my field points do. They will not open on launch. To be honest I have not shot anything with them yet, but from other reports I don't think I'll have am problem killing with them. Another good choice woul be the Slick Tricks. Field point accuracy...

Ive used slick tricks for several years now and they fly and work great. I tried the spitfires, they flew well and never had any serious problems with them. I shot G5s fixed blades for one deer and turkey season and was really disappointed with the blood trails. I am now trying out the 2 blade rage and have found they fly as well as the slick tricks I will give them a shot for this season with slick tricks as backup. I have a real problem with extra moving parts but also like to try new things. To me its more a choice of what you feel most confident with.

if you use the nap spitfire , wait for broadsides shots, i've taken 12 deer with my ten-point x-bow and nap spitfires, not impressed with blood trail ,but the deer don't go far(easy find) blood seems to fill-up in cavity!! i use now the nap 125 gr. razorbak, bigger hole and better blood trail, only taken one deer with the razorbak ,and this was last year. like woody says' the nap spitfire groups well with the field points and the expanable nap 125 spitfire, i just sight in and practice with the 125nap razorbac, i hunt with a new 125 gr, razorbak thats sharp.(they are hard to find and buy now). i sight in at 30 yards and my 3 dots scope from ten point takes care of the rest (i group good out to 40 yards ,but i like my hunting shots at 30 yards and under .... i shoot a stealth ten-point at :)185#,just a little over 300 feet per second. ....bottom line is "what ever you use make sure they are sharp and hit where you aim""" .....practice=confidence=success... ..good luck.... ....turkey scout

I havent hunted with my crossbow yet but I use spitfire 85's with my compound, never had a problem with them either, best mechanical I have used, I trust in them expanding, no o rings or rubber bands to have to worry about. Shot a doe at 30 yards last yr she ran about 35 yards blood everywhere ! never had trouble with the blood trails.
