Anybody else struggling to get the temperature up in the house? Mine was built in 1847, I have insulated about all I can, but it's a drafty, LOL. Dang, you gotta tighten that up some more! Ours is an old farm house. I've sealed it up pretty decent now. Its 78deg now with a wood stove going sparingly. I run the furnace fan some to circulate the air and it works out fine.

Well, as old as thermostats anyhow...

We are supposed to be going to northern Indiana tomorrow morning for Christmas. I can normally do the drive in about an hour and half under good conditions, are we crazy’s for trying?

Youll make it no problem if you give yourself extra time, AND you know how to drive on snow and ice. Buddy in Plymouth says only about 2 inches snow there, but roads icy. Near a foot of snow west of South Bend towards Laporte. All roads including SR 2 and US 20 are shot as of 5pm Friday. Inexperienced drivers of bad conditions are the enemy. 😉

Just reading a report. Several roads closed, significant blowing and drifting. Everything icy. Good luck.

Yep, I’m in the plymouth/Marshall county area. We only got 2-3 inches of snow. Main roads are very passable, country roads are doable with a truck and 4wd. The wind and cold came through, but a little disappointed in our snow total.

Snow tires are the best, I put 4 Blizzacks on the truck for this winter and even though it's a 4x4, the amount of grip that they give is amazing over the factory M&S tires.

Will you take it out of my truck and put it in the pond here then? Load up the trailer and bring it down!

The problem lies if you got stranded for any reason. Especially if the engine shut off and you have no heat. It gets dangerous real fast in these wind chills. I try for only short trips and make sure somebody knows exactly where you are in case you need a rescue or recovery. Have a plan!

About 6" of new snow fell over night in NE LaPorte county.
Just got a call from a widowed, elderly friend, a couple miles away. He cant get out of the house. All his doors are stuck, including the garage door. Gotta head over now.

I don’t mind the snow so much, it’s the wind and cold that are a PITB. We got over our share in that November storm, so I say we’re all even, you can keep your snow this time!
