Always been a bit curious, here's my question.
What do you all do for a living? If you're retired, what did you do prior?
I'll start lol, I'm in real estate.

Retired toolmaker, 32 years at GM (Allison) in Indy. It was a great job, but I took an early retirement when GM sold the plant I was in, and never regretted it.

I've been in law enforcement since 1998. I began in corrections for about 4 years, worked for a small town for a few years. I was hired as a patrol deputy in 2006 for Jasper County, promoted to Sergeant in 2016 and transferred to the detective bureau in 2021 where I am still currently working.

The last 29 years before retirement at age 56 I worked at Alcoa Warrick Operations as a Quantometer Operator in the lab, a Process Engineering Technician and the Smelting Plant Safety Coordinator. After retirement I worked as a contractor helping small companies with their safety programs and OSHA compliance. I did that for 4 years. Now it’s just taking care of momma. Life is great.

From college graduation on here is my list....civilian with IPD, Deputy in a suburban county....then law school.....then labor relations with USPS, Some Army active duty time, labor relations with DoD schools dealing with teachers unions (the single most corrupt organizations I have ever come in contact with), back to Active duty (retired), Special Agent with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency(retired again).....retired almost 3 years ago. Now I sell guns a Scheels about 10-12 hours a week for some spending scratch and the DISCOUNTS!! Of them all I loved my time on AD, enjoyed my time with DCSA, liked being a Deputy but went back to school after seeing some horrible stuff from the Sheriff and his cronies, and HATED the labor relations stints (although they paid well).

Construction. Right now working as union cement finisher. In off season I instal ceramic tile. How do you get a off season they never quit here unless it’s brutal I’ve seen them blanket dirt so it won’t freeze So are you lucky enough to pull blankets man do I hate them with a vengeance especially when it snows or rains than they freeze.

HVAC since 79 bought the place from my dad and uncle with two other brothers 21 years ago done calling it a day in February Had a side job most all my life it’s a construction company mostly flip or build new homes started that around the beginning of the 80s than I mostly did small remodeling jobs but got tired of dealing with owners they we’re always around when you worked never could get anything done I do custom homes but would rather just build specks so much easier I make decisions in 30 seconds not days and than wonder why we are behind.
Got a custom going right now the lady has changed paint colors 3 times in one bedroom and twice in the kitchen I get extra but I’m telling ya it ain’t worth the hassle. They picked out the front door got the door installed and they didn’t like it wanted to change it sure we can do that
