I think it was 2007 when my area got hit hard. It was like turning the clock back to the early ‘60s in numbers of deer seen. I recall going to the stands 17 times straight without seeing a deer
I’m a little concerned now as I’m not seeing a whole lot of pictures on my food plot camera. Hopefully it’s because all the deer are hitting the oaks?

That was worst year for me locally. Heads up a friend does food plots for people in county and did a farm on Aaron Rd. He saw a doe dead in pond last weekend. Thats getting close to your brother. Landowner said only one he had seen so far.

My wife and I had been celebrating our first anniversary on October 14th and while hiking in southern Illinois I fell and broke both my wrists. I was sooooo stinkin' mad that I was going to lose my bow season. I ended up doing a BUNCH of scouting, Dad would hunt one area and I would go scout another. I ended up killing a spike at Crane and later at the time my best deer a nice clean 8 pt. I got to spend 8 weeks with Dad hunting whatever we decided to go after. The next year my oldest son was born and play time was over LOL!

Sometimes, we would get calls about the wild dog packs tearing things up and biting people and we would go on missions to hunt them. Little different when it’s 20 guys in 4 armored trucks with heavy machine guns though haha.

In 6 days I've gotten three pictures of deer in the food plot trail camera. Highly unusual.
Not sure what's going on. Hopefully they are getting their bellies full somewhere else (acorns maybe?)and not ehd victims.

EHD is here , but from what I have seen here so far, seems to be pretty isolated with just a few cases. We are in a dry stretch so until a frost just gotta hope it stays at bay.
