I might try 10 shots at 40 yards with my glock 19 9mm it should be amusing anyway. I usually don't shoot more than 15 yards Use a tree. He was using one of the concrete poles as cover and a steady. Still a chunk of distance bit easier than freehand. I used one of the posts on my front porch, pleasantly surprised, gained a little confidence at that distance.

I wish Indiana had a law on the books like Illinois does. That is the only thing that Illinois got right. I believe it is if a shooter is not convicted of a crime then he cannot be sued in civil court by the family of the person they shot. I guess the shooter’s family could sue Simon Corporation for not enforcing their gun policy…. That’s probably why they have signs posted IMO Long live the Hero… anyone heard the Brand of gun used to make the 40 yard shots? They should make that a “Hero model” 😉

True that with a pocket pistol Best I can do with my EDC SW shield on a silhouette at 25yds, shooting instinctively, combat stance is 2 or 3 hits out of 10 under 12 sec. Move to 15yds and 7 to 10 in around 8 sec. never even attempt 40 yds.

Not saying you are wrong just saying that's pretty far. I heard he had 8 hits out of 10. If at 35 yards that first one was sent with a prayer, come to think of it, at that paticular moment it was probably sent with a few hundred urgent prayers.

I found an article that said 30 yds. I say that’s a min district your get to someone with a RIFLE unless you really catch them off guard! All the more reason to carry a full size handgun IMO Shooter had a SIG Sauer rifle AR Platform I do believe.

Here’s another story from his girlfriends grandma. Sounds like he sure had his wits about him during the whole event. Pretty impressive for a young fella. youtu.be/NQXOHsHkJV4

I don't think many people know what 30 feet or 40 yards is. The malls I've been in the bathrooms are usually just before the food court area and not that far away. My guess it was 30-40 feet.

An aerial view for those unfamiliar with that mall. Scale at the top left For the record it's approx. 165 feet from the food court entry doors to CFA 144 feet from the same entry doors to the restrooms 218 feet from between Blondies and the Kay?? Jeweler's area to the restrooms (Information from another site)

Per the GreenWall Park layout it appears the restrooms for the food court area is just on the left side entering the food court. Typical location in a lot of malls.
