With a butane bottle and laptop in his oven, I think he may have been waiting in the bathroom for an explosion. With the emergency response to his appartment building and caos that would cause in the food court he would have had cover to shoot more people. He obviously wasn't expecting an armed resistance.

Good Samaritan neutralized the shooter 2 min after 1st shot.
Good Samaritan did not have a permit but was legal per constitutional carry.

Hmm, well, maybe, greghopper. Or he might be trashed like John McCain, or dissed as a "loser" like Bob Dole.
Wouldn't bet on the response of our last pres on anything. I agreed with most of his policy measures, too, but still think he may turn out to be the man who sank the Republican Party. IMO, he already has harmed it more than Nixon.

I guess the beach grove incident got shorted while everyone had a meet and greet outside the mall after a civilian handled it. SMH. I'm sure I am a jerk for criticism of police though.

Man looks like he is 16, great job. Been kicking around getting a pocket pistol. I think it is time. Anyone got any recommendations? Something small that would just fit in my pants pocket.

You’ll get many different opinions on that one. Been carrying my smith and Wesson .380 in my pocket for years. Small, compact, yet will get the job done if needed.

My “pocket pistol” is a Ruger .380 LCP in a Sticky holster. It will slide right down into my jeans front pocket.
I also have a Sig p365 9MM that I sometimes carry on my hip in a Sneaky Pete holster. The only people that will know there is a gun in that pouch is other Sneaky Pete owners

I like my Ruger LCP .380. It hides about anywhere I put it. I have a pocket holster and an Alien Gear IWB. I prefer the IWB over the pocket carry it just is easier to get out. I can wear a tee shirt with a loose button front shirt ofer it untucked or just wear any shirt and tuck the shirt tail in.
A little more bulk is the Ruger LCP max. It is just a little wider but not much. I am trying to decide if the extra 4 rounds are worth the extra $$ or just go to a compact 9mm.
Except for some Remington ammo I have not had a fail with any of the extra mags I have. I carry Hornady XTP and Federal Hydroshocks. Practice with Win whitebox or whatever chear ammo I can find.

The picture above looks like an old high shcool picture compared to the one I saw today. He's 22 now and I'm guessing he's 6' 3" and a couple of hundred pounds easy. Here's a link to a fox article about the shooting with a photo www.foxnews.com/us/indiana-greenwood-park-mall-shooting-victims-bystander-killed-gunman-identifiedAs far as a carry gun goes, I've always heard and read to buy what you'll actually carry as it won't do you any good sitting @ home.

Ruger LCP gen 1 user here. Even less safeties than a Glock. Lol. Pretty much goes anywhere/everywhere no matter what. Even to the toolbox everytime working alone!😉
SR9C with 10rd flush mag on weekends with 17rd full mag in pocket.
Wife has SW Bodyguard with green laser. Same as LCP but with thumb safety.
We try to always have something on us.😎

Hitting someone in your face is easy! I prefer a full size hand gun myself….

A couple of them bought the ARs a week before the shooting so I doubt they are versed in Sneaky Pete’s.😉 But I’ll take my chances as the 9MM has more stopping powers and holds more rounds

I understand the young man shot 10 times and hit the perp 8 times. Under those conditions that is excellent shooting.

Better than most cops these days. I just hope they do not find he hit someone else.
The stress level had to be out of this world. To advance against a rifle armed with a pistol and score 8/10 is flat out awesome. I would like to see a toned video of what went down during the shoot out.
