Got her completely serviced today. I replaced every fluid and filter possible. Greased everything, including 5 zerks underneath that were clean and obviously never greased. ๐ก Found a leaking hydraulic hose on the bucket I need to replace, and gonna add a light and have the rear tires filled next. Both front tires leak, so will address that next. Wife kinda looking at me funny after spending all this money and then another bundle to straighten it out. It is what it is. I am no perfectionist, but want a solid, dependable machine and want everything right when I call it ready to go. I welded a length of angle iron across the top of the bucket where it was bent and straightened it, and welded a grab hook in the center. Will get a couple more to weld on for lifting and to tie down on trailer. Gonna get a good wash job and recheck the fluids on Sunday. Getting there! ๐ Iโll keep you in mind when itโs time for my 50 hour change of all fluids and filters. Have to do that to keep my warranty. You hire out? Lol. Never did anything like that on a tractor, but will do it myself instead of having it taken in to get done. Plenty of YouTube videos on it. Itโs easier than working on a car you got lots of room to get your hands in and around

This is how I took care of the bucket issue. Gonna weld a couple more hooks on. Wanting a grapple. Researching all avenues. My buddy has a Wicked Root by Everything Attachment. AWESOME, but pricey. I found an add on set up to existing bucket by Precision Manufacturing. It looks promising! So promising, I am thinking of just making my own setup. Not the first time manufactured my own home brew. ๐

I need to get some hooks on mine sometime. Be super handy. Beats wrapping a strap around the bucket.

I am all finished with the maintenance part for now. Gotta get a couple more add ons to do and have rear tires filled. I got her all cleaned up now so wanted a clean picture before she goes to work and shows some battle scars. Lol.

I'm seriously thinking of getting an i-match for the rear 3 point. Sure does make changing implements easy.

I'm seriously thinking of getting an i-match for the rear 3 point. Sure does make changing implements easy. $218 for quick hitch at Rural King. My contacts say there are too many differences in implements that you need to tweak things regularly to fit. If everything was same brand, it would help. Or my thinking would if you adjust each implement one time, is that enough? That's just what I've heard, and seen some same things online. No personal experience as this is my first time getting my feet wet with all this.

Yes to the differences between the implements. For instance, the blower in Knox was made by Agri Metal. I had to re-weld the lower two 3 point attachment points for it to work, but other than that all the other 3 point implements mate right up. There are 4 different 3-point implement mfg's there and that's the only one that had to be modified.
In any case, just adjust the implement once and you never have to touch it again.
Last year I saw on FB that a guy down near Memphis that was making them for $100. I thought about buying it and swinging by on one of my runs down there to get fish. It would add between 1-2 hours to the trip.

Very nice, looks like what I need. I bought a old 1950 8n this winter for mowing around my ponds, but I think your tractor would be a much handier tool. Yes, very handy with the loader, 4wd, and rear axle lock, and hydrostatic drive. Esshup has same setup, and I have got to use it many times. It's a perfect size for what I/we need. It will be easy to trailer around if needed for a snowstorm or work at a homestead. Not too big that it's a burden. Looks like around 2,400# as it sets without filled tires. I will be working on a 3rd function valve and grapple attachment on the future. 100% total game changer. Not so much a grapple bucket, but what they call a root rake. Basically wanting to pick up logs and cut firewood to load into truck, trailer, etc and eliminate so much bending down to help my back out. Its seen better days. deadeer check out the grapplers at expresssteelinc.com/ They are fabricated here in Waverly In. A good contact there is Sky Cantwell They also have a FB page if you do FB Looking at there stump buckets for mine !

I'm kinda torn how I want to accomplish my goal. This tractor does not have a quick attach setup on the loader. That adds a lot alone, then buying another bucket setup with the face plate or buying a blank and converting myself. I want to get a few other tools for it soon, so money is always a big factor. Plus I am needing a newer truck sooner than later, so I have to keep everything in perspective. I am now thinking about an add on setup to the existing bucket now. That way I wont have to remove the bucket to use a grapple. Something like this setup... I might end up just making it myself. All I'm wanting to do is pick up a few logs and cut rounds of firewood to save my back. I'm not going into business or hiring out to do commercial work, so I dont need anything too elaborate. Will see.

I bought bolt on forks for $100ish 5 or 6 yrs ago. The are not great but I can pick up a few logs at a time. To move or cut. They are good for brush too.
It does dent the bucket and not the best tool but it was the best I could afford at the time. It does make some jobs easier and a back saver. If you have scrap metal they would be easy to make.

My thoughts (and you know how much I use the grapple on the John Deere) is that the sides of the bucket will limit the amount of stuff you can pick up with that add-on. Plus it is so much further forward from the pivot point that it will reduce the amount that you can pick up. With the grapple part in the center of the bucket you cannot gut any closer than the end of the bucket and that will leave a long piece left over that you have to bend over and cut, probably twice or three times. Better than nothing but worse than a real grapple. I know it hurts, but buy once, cry once and be done with it. expresssteelinc.com/product/60-two-cylinder-brush-grapple/Price includes shipping. Get it shipped to work or to Knox, I can unload it with forks there and put it on a trailer.

All options on the table. I am not jumping on anything today, will keep watching. Maybe find something used as well. No huge rush.

Idk, $100#? If I buy a complete grapple setup, it would be more the rook rake style, not the bucket shape with top arms. Those are for real sized tractors or skid steers. This is a Tonka Toy.
