I know where I'm going. The known hot spot. Now what I would not do is if the guide says "There is a good critter at that stand RIGHT NOW. Lets go slip up on him and shoot him". Nope.. not going there. But what if…your setting in your north food plot and your cell sends a picture of Mac Daddy standing at the south end of your south food plot just a 100 yards behind you…and you know the field is approachable from where your at without spooking him? I would be looking for Mac Daddy!!! Lol I’m like you, I don’t like the ide of new laws/limitations being put on sportsmen. That’s a “what if”. My food plot is rather small - maybe 30 yards wide by 150 Yards long. With my .243 I can shoot from one end to the other. Camera is flat in the middle right where my #1 stand is. I have a bowhunter’s mentality and like up close and personal shots.

I’m like titanium700. When my grandson is here we are in contact a lot with our cell phone texts. We fill each other in what we are seeing, where we think that gun shot came from, where we think that gobbler is st that we just heard, etc.
We send pics or videos of deer we passed or non- game critters that we’ve seen. He was extremely excited to see and video a bobcat. He shared that with me immediately.
It is a huge part of our enjoyment.
Heck, we share a lot on here with “Live from the deer/turkey woods or fishing.”
We even share our trail camera pictures.
Should we forgo all that because someone just “might” do something “unethical”?

Quite honestly I don't see how that is any different that what a lot of us currently do. That is to make a lap around our property in the vehicle to see what (if anything) is out prior to choosing a stand to sit. I have my mind changed many times on where to sit based on seeing a good buck somewhere near one of my stands. I've never really thought of that as being unethical. I've also used the lap around the property to determine the best way to access certain stands if there are deer out in any of the fields. I always thought of it as being a smart hunter?

I do all the above here with my son and wife..and yes it is illegal for me to do so. I took a local CO out for his first bobcat with dogs. I handed him a two way radio that I had private channels put on, he hesitated and I asked "what if you snap your leg in there and I cant find you"? He took the radio and we got his 42lb bobcat...LOL

Cameras actually save deer also… some will hold out for certain deer when knowing they are in the area!

Believe the wording was defined to what we have now… use to just say “no use of electronic devices/aid for deer hunting”

Believe the wording was defined to what we have now… use to just say “no use of electronic devices/aid for deer hunting” I know we couldn’t and still can’t use a heat seeking device to “take deer”. They even outlawed them for locating a downed deer. The same year they did that they OKed the use of a dog in a leash to blood trail deer.

“Infrared Sensors/Electronic Calls The use of infrared sensors or electronic deer calls to locate or take deer is illegal. It is also illegal to hunt or to retrieve deer with the aid of an infrared sensor or to hunt deer while possessing an electronic deer call.”

“Infrared Sensors/Electronic Calls The use of infrared sensors or electronic deer calls to locate or take deer is illegal. There was some alot discussion on IndianaSportmen about is in early 2000-time frame! Past discussion from here about "Eletronic equipment" and deer hunting. hunt-indiana.com/post/513578

So where is this going? IMO I believe cellular cameras are here to stay. Can see states limiting there use to "Private property" and not allowing on "Public lands" as many states are currently doing. Just my guess.

Just my guess. While I'm not a fan of cell camera usage during the deer season, I don't see much changing in Indiana for the near future. Fact is, people love running cameras and cellular cameras are a huge seller. Personally, I think there are people who like running cameras better than actually hunting deer.

I think there here to stay as they should be. No different than any other technology that we use. Should be legal on Private and Public. They tell you what is there to hunt. They don't camouflage you. Cover human scents. Put them in the perfect opening or make the shot for you. It is simply another tool that you can use or not as you so desire.
