What is everyone taking with them hunting this weekend?
I am going to start with my 450 Bushmaster and a 4 5/8" Ruger Blackhawk in .41 mag on my hip.
How about everyone else?
Stay safe, shoot straight, and enjoy yourselves out there!

I'll be patrolling roadway for trespassers/poachers. If I hunt afternoon it will probably still be my bow honestly.

Man, I’m tired of 1oz slugs beating the crap out of me lol I always practice to make sure I can still hit a paper plate at 100 yards (never attempted a shot on a deer that far with it though), but I don’t use my shotgun unless I’m on public or missing my grandpa extra at the time. I’ll be using my savage 111 chambered in 7mm rem mag ( I know I know , only a little less kick). I’m confident out to 400 yards (longest harvest was 267), but usually can’t see near that far unless I sit a field (which I’ll do a few times ). Overkill? Maybe. Is it enough ? Always. I asked for it for Christmas when I was 17 and lived in Colorado. Wanted one rifle that would take any and all game in the US. I also got my grandpas Springfield / Savage 340 bolt gun chambered in 30-30 hitting an 8” target at 100 yards . Skinner sights only on that for now , so it’ll be my tight woods gun for private. I love the carbine sized frame, so it’ll get a rail and optic mounted for next season. Beginning to like that old thing more and more.

Good luck hope to see a pic of you and your boy sitting behind a deer!

More trespassing and shooting over lines and tracking without permission occurs this weekend than any other - only by default of the amount of folks out there, not attacking gun hunters. Fact of land ownership, especially given my property location and surrounding area. Good thing is it has been awhile since I've had to run anyone off, so could be worse.

TC Encore 450bm in the woods, TC Encore 7-08 in the field.
Luke will be sporting a 243 Ruger American when he hunts.

He is also learning about his free will, so he’s a whole handful (as I still am, so I can’t blame him). I got to enjoy two sits with him this year. We will be back out together next year! Hunting public has got all sorts of ideas in my head for early season next year , so we will be out a bunch then. Good luck to you sir !

It’ll be between the 350 legend and 30-06. Leaning towards the 30-06 for tomorrow for no particular reason but we shall see what ends up in the stand with me. Might even have the 40 S&W with me for a close up kill.

Savage 350 legend that I picked up a few months back when they were on sale. It's going to be nice to not have to pour powder down the barrel after every shot, as I've used my muzzleloader for the past 10 years or so during firearms.

If I manage to go,which my going depends on if I can get my ATV started which I doubt,I'll be using my T/C G2 Contender rifle in 44 mag. More than likely I probably won't get to go hunting this season though, time will tell.

Brought two guns up to the farm today just in case. Just confirmed zero on both. Mossberg .308 with Vortex diamondback shooting 150 grain winchester power points and 870 12 gauge rifle sighted smooth bore slug barrel shooting 1 oz slugs.
